Hostel The Roof

Cartagena, Colombia

This is a great value hostel in Cartagena! Great air con in the rooms, comfy beds, fast wifi, friendly staff! This place really has it all. The chargers in the lockers are genius! The staff held onto our bags for free when we went to playa blanca for a few nights. The roof terrace is amazing, great kitchen. Awesome location, really near old town and massive EXITO just down the road. Also close to local buses to the bus terminal and buses to playa blanca. Number one choice for Cartagena!

La Casa de Cecilia

This is a really cute hostel, right on the river and very relaxing! You can watch hummingbirds and swim in the river. Staff didn't speak English (not a complaint but just something to note if you don't speak any Spanish!!), rooms were spacious and comfortable, the downstairs shower was AMAZING! Towels included and mosquito nets was nice. Good wifi if you sat near the kitchen. Access to the kitchen would have been nice....the rooms are cheap but you end up spending a lot of money on food.

A great value hostel! Sandra (the owner) and all the staff were great and helpful with all of our questions. Showers are hot and beds are super comfy, the kitchen is well equipped an wifi was good even in the rooms! Traffic noise in the mornings was occasionally loud but this isn't a reflection on the hostel, just something to note :) definitely must stay here when in quito!

Loki del Mar

Mancora, Peru

This was an AMAZING hostel! It is more like a resort!! It is a party hostel, I had no problems sleeping but if you aren't into this kind of thing maybe go somewhere else. The food is delicious and really well priced for mancora. Staff are friendly and make sure you have a good time. The pool=awesome. Really easy to meet people and always something going on. Only problem was we had to leave!

Banana's Adventure

Huacachina, Peru

We had an awesome stay at bananas mainly because of the awesome atmosphere! There are heaps of couches and places to chill out, the pool is lovely. Make sure you lock up your valuables. Food was a bit overpriced and service slow but we found this to be the standard in huacachina! They ran out of beer every night which was a tad annoying. Overall a good place to relax for a few days!

Swimming pool was awesome, really nice rooms and clean, staff at Tupiza tours were really helpful. Breakfast was the usual...nothing special. The actual hotel staff were quite unfriendly and unhelpful but the staff at Tupiza tours helped us out heaps!! Would definitely reccomend a salt flats tour with tupiza tours!

Catarino's Guest House

Bonito, Brazil

Breakfast was amazing!!! We got upgraded to a private room after booking a dorm which was really nice. Wifi was good, staff were helpful and friendly, you can hire bikes pretty cheap which is nice. Plenty of tours on offer. Not necessarily the hostels fault but the tours are really expensive and don't include transfers....which can end up being ridiculously expensive so try find a group!
