When we booked we didn't realise that it was in such a great place close to the markets & the walk down to CatCat. The Manager Bob is a fantastic young man who is very helpful he provided us with everything we needed to get to BacHa including sending us to his friend in Lau Chi so that we got on the right mini bus. He is a young local who is starting out and runs a very clean hotel his cheese & tomato omelette is fantastic...so support a local and stay with Bob at Casblanca ...great Wifi signal

The manager was very helpful as were all of the staff, our room was very good & the wifi signal was strong. The breakfast choice is good & there is fruit as well as self serve juice & coffee. The information provided by the hotel was very helpful. The manager was so helpful he even changed the downstairs cable TV so that the Aussies could watch the AFL finals. He was more than happy to assist. There are plenty of great places to eat nearby.

My favourite place all year & we have been traveling for 6months. This is such a wonderful place & the food it was excellent the meal sizes were large we ate there every night :) The fresh spring rolls are the best. The owners are all family so they care very much about you and make sure that you have everything that you need. We stayed longer it was such a great place & they arranged our bus tickets to the next town. The motorbike we hired through them was good too.

This is a great hostel the thing that let it down was the condition of the bathroom but every thing else was good. The owner is a very helpful person and you get a good breakfast included it is in a good location and the rooms are big with good air-conditioning despite the mould in the shower I would still recommend staying here. I was tempted to splash vinegar around :)

The owners are fantastic very helpful but above all they care about you as if you are family. they gave us plenty of very useful information. which meant that we got the most out of our stay. They also booked our trek and stored our luggage of no cost. When we returned or heavy backpacks were back in our room waiting for us, the accommodation was more like hotel with soft towel, fresh soaps & water. would highly recommend this lovely place.

Fantastic home away from home. A great place to stay and you are made to feel as if you are family they help you with arrangements, store your luggage whilst you go off trekking a really great place to stay. The breakfast on the rooftop is a great way to start the day. The lovely security person who greats you each evening along with the happy attitude of all the staff members makes the stay wonderful. A lovely quiet place in a terrific location. We are so glad that we found them. Thank you

Whilst we were here it appeared as if the owners were away. There was no one able to speak english as advertised which is why we chose the place so there was no one available to give any advice. The person in charge was a young man who could not even provide us with a map. There was no breakfast despite advertising including breakfast & the kitchen area which is right inside near the reception was dirty always. I am sure the real owners were away..maybe they need to make better arrangements

We stayed it the one with the pool for the first trip and it was great it was air-conditioned and the breakfast was really good. Then when we returned from Tayrona we stayed in their other hostel which is closer to town, it did not have a pool or aircon but you are welcome to go up to the other one & swim. Nice rooftop area to relax.

It was a little tight being put in the single room of the cabin as it was not really enough room for a double bed and two people plus backpacks. I am not sure but I thought that wifi signal was advertised as strong but not in the cabins you had to sit in the eating area which is fine if it is advertised as such

These people make such an effort it is like staying in a hotel!! The best bed I have slept in during the past 8 Months in South America big comfy and extra pillows :) All the little extra touches are so nice the owner even insisted on carrying my heavy backpack up the stairs. Would not stay anywhere else.

What a fantastic place the staff were so caring as I was sick from food poisoning in Arequipa she took one look at me and fussed over me I didn't even have to say anything. They assist you with everything you need booking your trips trekking & keep your luggage safe whilst you are away. the rooms were very good the only problem was the long climb up the steps but that was the lazy taxi drivers fault insist on getting dropped of closer :)

Fantastic place it is made of old volcanic rock & the rooms are amazing. The bathrooms are great best showers plenty of hot water. The kitchen was a little small but it is so cheap to eat out you may as well. The owner was great at giving advise & stored our luggage whilst we did the Canyon trek he also let us stay late into the night whilst we waited for our bus to leave. Great place ideal location & very secure.

I can well understand why it is rated so high. We arrived early in the morning and were warmly welcomed, the staff gave us great local advice and were more than happy to give us full access to all amenities on our checkout day even though we were leaving in the evening. The bus booking company mixed up our departure dates and the hostel were very gracious about it. I have no trouble referring fellow travellers to this hostel

Great clean rooms nice garden to sit in and a much more relaxed atmosphere on the days the american owner was not present once he arrived the staff seemed to be on high alert & sitting in the chairs outside they were constantly sent to ask you if you wanted a drink, as it was also a restaurant which had great food and was great value but some times you want to just be able to sit & talk to fellow travellers without being pressured. The staff understood this the owner needs to learn it.

I was placed in a room with a known bed bug problem, never being affected before it took me days to realise, it was immediately confirmed by the night staff. It then took days trying to get some assistance to ensure that our backpacks were not affected as I did not want to be taking the problem with me.3 weeks later the bites have stopped itching after having to pay for expensive cream & tablets. I was offered a drink from the bar for my discomfort!!! Linen refund waiting waiting waiting???
