Nice hostel, fairly clean. Well located, few minutes walk to the famous terraces. Stayed in a 5 bed dorm but didn't have a key so not as secure as other hostels. Swimming pool good but breakfast not great. Excellent value for money though!
Nice family run hostel. Well located between the train (~2 mins walking) and bus (~5 mins walking) stations. Friendly staff who gave lots of information about the local tourist sites.
Hotel is in an area with lots of local shops. Hotel staff speak enough English to get by. Room fairly small but comfortable. Excellent value for money if you consider that you have an ensuite private room for the price of a dorm bed in a hostel.
Dirty, only 4 showers for each floor.
We're brought warm scones up to the room on arrival. Room was well furnished but the hot water runs out quickly for the shower. Very good breakfast and only 5 minutes to Athlone by car.
Ok hostel with a small car park out the back. Was a little hard to find, look out for An Oige rather than Cork International Youth Hostel. Around 10 - 15 minutes walk into town.
What you'd expect with a 3* chain hotel. Need a swimming cap for the swimming pool but not the other facilities.
Ok for a stop off. Washing service is really expensive, around 10€.
Hostel is well situated next to the lake with only an extremely expensive caravan park shop next door... It's better to buy food before hand. Extremely friendly welcome, we were given some ideas for our journey through the Connemara and were recommended to visit the Carrowkeel passage tombs near by, a must if you have the time (details on their website).
We stayed in a separate building from the main hostel that had Newly refurbished bathrooms and kitchen. Room ok and free parking in the road outside however it's busy during the day.
The hostel is joined onto a B&B so has that kind of feel. Very friendly welcome, we were even given a tour if the hostel and some tips for visiting the Giants Causeway. Good value breakfast available in the B&B next door. Lots of free parking on the road outside.
Very dirty, too many beds in the room just enough room for the suitcases, very few showers however there was a sink in the room. Free parking in the road overnight however it's close to a pub so security might be a problem. The hostel have secure parking for £5/night.
Friendly welcome however, although we booked two twin rooms, we were offered two double rooms with the option to pay extra for a twin room. After declining, we were given the twin room at no extra charge, as it seemed that it was the only room remaining. Lots of insects in the room where the window had been left open - the B&B is in the middle of nowhere.
Ok hostel, showers were pretty dirty. Stayed in a 16 person dorm however beds were very spread out. Discounted parking with hostel was around 12€ per 24 hours
