Die Wohngemeinschaft

Cologne, Germany

One of the best hostels that I've ever stayed in! Great staff, lovely building, awesome cafe/bar on the ground floor...just a really great place to stay in Cologne. This hostel has everything you could ever want in a hostel...stay here!

Jaeger's Munich

Munich, Germany

Overall, a good stay. The dorm and bathrooms were pretty clean and the lockers were big. The location was prime: a 2 minute walk from Munchen Hbf and a 10/15 minute walk to the center of the city [everything in Munich is fairly close too]. The free walking tour was nice. Definitely more of a "party hostel" vibe and the bar area can get a bit rowdy.

Tresor Hostel

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Great stay at Tresor! The rooms are spacious, clean, and have curtains around the beds for privacy. The showers/toilets are very clean, the included breakfast is great, and the location is fantastic! The only downside was the wifi, which was pretty unreliable and slow. But overall, I had a great stay in Ljubljana at Tresor!

A&O Wien Hauptbahnhof

Vienna, Austria

Very "industrial strength" hostel--huge, kind of sterile, but it had clean facilities and good wifi in the lounge area. It's in a good, fairly close to the center of the city and to public transportation stops. It was a good place to stay for a night.

Sophie's Hostel

Prague, Czech Republic

Really nice hostel--new, spacious, clean, classy, kitchen, free wifi. The only downside is the lack of lounge space...makes it a bit difficult to meet other travelers staying there. Overall, a very pleasant stay though.

Schlafmeile Hostel

Berlin, Germany

GREAT HOSTEL!! I loved staying here. Although the hostel is a bit far from the city center, I preferred to stay in Friedrichshain because it is a really interesting and lively area. It's also very easy and cheap to use public transportation. The staff at Schlafmeile are incredibly kind and hospitable, the atmosphere in the rooms and the attached cafe/bar is welcoming and relaxing, the bathrooms and rooms are cleaned regularly, the wifi is reliable.

Antwerp, Belgium

Abhostel was an oasis in Antwerp. Bridget and Greg are incredibly kind and hospitable, the hostel itself is immaculate (great showers, beds, wifi, info, and breakfast), and the people who stayed there are great. The only negative was the location: a bit of a walk from Antwerp Centraal and not located in the best area. But overall, my stay was very pleasant.

Bob's Youth Hostel

Amsterdam, Netherlands

I definitely enjoyed my stay at Bob's. The location is amazing and safe (only a 10 min walk to Amsterdam Centraal and it's right on a tram stop), the lockers are nice and big in the room, the wifi is decent, and the breakfast is free. The only thing I did not like was the shower in the large girls' dorm. It was pretty slimy and did not drain well, so you were left standing in a puddle of water and hair--gross.

Smart Russell Square Hostel

London, England

The location is great (close to tube and bus, and can walk easily to many great parts of London--Soho, Bloomsbury, Camden), the curtains are nice, the lounge is nice and big--good for meeting people and relaxing. The shower facilities are not the best (the floor is kind of slimy), and the beds are pretty uncomfortable and short (I am 63 inches tall and I just fit, length-wise).

Bath Backpackers

Bath, England

Great location, cool people. Wifi was free but spotty, showers and bathrooms were decently clean. Small lockers in the room, but they were free to use. Overall, a good experience!

YHA Canterbury

Canterbury, England

I had a very nice stay at YHA Canterbury. Pros: the hostel was extremely clean, safe, and quiet. Fairly close to the town centre and bus and rail stations (about 10 min walk). Cons: Not the best environment to meet other travelers--many people staying there were locals or non-travelers, and the wifi was expensive (£5/day). Overall, a good experience!

Sun Hotel

Brussels, Belgium

My 2 friends and I had an enjoyable stay at Sun Hotel! The staff were all wonderful and very hospitable. Accommodations were modest, but I think fair for the price of the stay. Great location--about a 20 minute walk from Grand Place, so a good place to escape tourist central! Also, about a 10 euro cab ride from the Brussels Midi/Zuid station.
