Got my laptop stolen from a locked bag in a room. Staff might be somehow involved, since my bag was specifically targeted. Avoid this place, CONSTANT robberies, no security whatsoever, kitchen is tiny, plus staff cooks meals and it closes at 11pm.

Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. During breakfast they count every bite, as if you are going to eat one corn flake too much. Loud nightly/early morning customer fights/confrontations with staff for idiotic reasons. One of the example - staff yelled half an hour at the guy who tried to bring juice to his room. Uncomfortable beds, especially in rooms with 3 bunk beds on top of each other, broken lockers. Dirty sheets, pillows, moldy bathrooms, kitchen is small, dirty, unusable.

The first day was rough, since they opened hostel too early, but gradually everything was improved. It is the cheapest hostel in London, beds are new, facilities are improved everyday and location is really good- overnight bus access from two directions, train, underground. There is 24 hour store and some discount retailers nearby. What else can you ask? Don't book the cheapest room, since it is too crowded and you will be OK.

Staff is really helpful, good location (many access ways- bus, DLR), place felt really secure, free lockers under bed, EXCELLENT bed mattress, good breakfast, perhaps the only minus is no kitchen or at least a microwave in a common room. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.

Hostel is clean, but poorly ventilated. It is quite old building, and used as a hostel for a long time, so it has this distinctive sweat and humidity smell. It might give you a headache. I wish windows would open at least a notch more in rooms. Another interesting inconvenience- no any dishes, utensils in a kitchen. You have to go to the reception and pay a deposit for that. In a morning you might wait in a queue to the showers/toilets/washroom. Beds are comfortable, good location.

It is far away from center. Facilities are quite dated, and dirty. It was not secure at all- I found my room unlocked at least one time, someone would come in a room (not people who were staying) in a middle of the night. People complained about food, personal belongings, money thefts. No one check your ID during check in, so you get all kind of guests and you might expect anything from them.
