One of the most memorable hostels I've stayed at in 9 months traveling. Extremely comfortable, the nicest staff. The place is spotless clean, charming, it has a vibe about it… You just want to hang out there. It's not the safest area, so you'll want to rely on taxis at night. Other than that, it's close enough to the metro. Not a party place whatsoever.
This is a hostel that thrives in the details. Like the endless pancakes and the local version of Nutella in an already very complete breakfast. Like the individual fan, power outlet, nightlight and small case for each bed, besides the notably comfortable mattress and pillows, as well as the spacious locker. Like all of the rooms that face the common area being sound-proof, so you can still hang out when it's late at night. The only downside is the price. :)
Location is the best, the house is beautiful, staff is lovely. But one night I come back to find my things in the common area and my bed given away to somebody else. They apologized effusively, but mixed ups with reservations happened a lot during my stay. Only one of the showers has hot water, no individual lockers and the fridge for guests is ridiculous, smaller than a minibar. I did enjoy my stay, but if you go there, expect anything. And dont forget to pack your sense of humour
One of the best hostel experiences I ever had. The house is beautiful, very clean, the environment is relaxing, but you still listen to music and meet people over beer. It's not one of those places you just go for a bed. This is a hostel you are happy to go back to and hang out after a long day of sight seeing. Staff is very helpful. Rafael, the owner, is a darling. And if being able to sleep through the whole night is important to you, I would certainly recommend Hostel 1.
Beautiful place, excelente hosts, excelente horses, wine, food, accomodations... I miss El Galope already!
