Kyoto Hana Hostel

Kyoto, Japan

Kyoto Hana Hostel is exemplary of what a hostel should be. It immediately address all the needs of a traveler in a quick and efficient manner with great flexibility and accommodation. The location is certainly a big plus of this hostel. Being very near to the Kyoto JR station, the hostel may be a good base to explore the surrounding Kansai region in day-trip scenarios.

Anne Hostel Yokozuna

Tokyo, Japan

The hostel is immaculate. With its good location between JR Ryogoku Station and Toei Ryogoku Subway Station, this hostel is in an excellent premise to explore the rest of Tokyo via the two abovementioned means. The common room was pleasant, and the staff were helpful in giving restaurant recommendations and travel advices. A word of caution for (extremely) light-sleepers, you can hear JR trains passing as early as 5 AM and as late as 11 PM, but I think they hardly qualify as a nuisance.

The air in the room may get a bit stuffy due to lack of ventilation in the room. However, everything was awesome. I love the lounge, btw!

Well done! =)

Our Melting Pot

Manila, Philippines

I saw a plaque at the hostel congratulating the hostel on being chosen as one of the best hostels IN THE WORLD - and I have to agree. The hostel is very homey with comfortable sofas, board games, televisions and dining table where travelers could mingle around and exchange information. Facilities and toilets were clean and adequate. Air-conditioners were cold and awesome companion for unforgiving Manila's weather. Beds were furnished with a window-curtain to give (a sense of) privacy. Awesome!

Hostel of the Sun

Naples, Italy

It was near the ferry port, so you can easily check-in and leave your bags before exploring Naples! Facilities and cleanliness were perfect. The staff are very helpful and friendly (and they take initiatives to help you too! which I really respect and appreciate). This is one of the best hostels that I have stayed at during my 3-weeks travel in Italy.

Mami Camilla

Sorrento, Italy

Lack of toilet mat will transform the toilet into a horrible, dirty place after it was used by 1-2 person. I strongly suggest the hostel to take necessary steps to alleviate such problem.

A Scalinatella

Amalfi, Italy

You got whatever a traveler would need.

Carlito's Way

Rome, Italy

All is good, except the staff - who sometimes looked rather annoyed (perhaps, they are just too tired?) by one's inquiries although they did their job really well in helping them.

Palazzo Buonaccorsi

San Gimignano, Italy

Awesome hotel. The price is, however, a bit steep for a solo traveler.

Florence, Italy

I am very pleased with everything! This hostel has a good balance between the value-for-money, comfort, facilities and all that. This hostel is just what a traveler needs! Yuri and Valentina were two awesome hosts! It was rather tricky, though, to find the place, but open your eyes wide on the beautiful Firenze's via Cavour, find the arrow sign and instruction labels pasted nearby before inflicting any unnecessary nuisance to the locals and there you go!

Generator Venice

Venice, Italy

Perhaps two of the biggest disappointment of this hostel are the wifi signal that never work and the size of bathroom that is really small. The bar and lobby atmosphere were great as well as the room cleanliness.

Ostello Dolomiti

San Martino di Castrozza, Italy

The dinner offer at this place was a total bargain and it was so delicious and amazing (the chef was seemed to be the grandmother of the family). Staff was very helpful despite limited English capability. The only cons would be the location of the establishment - which was around 15mins walk from the bus station. However, there were some good things due to the location too: serenity and amazing, amazing view of Dolomites from the third floor.

Pros: Good value of money Near bus/train station and central part of Trento is 5-10 minutes away on foot Cons: - Some electricity points and lamps were not functional - Wifi signal was not appreciable from the room
