It was a nice small apartment good for three people. It's good that the kitchen has everything you need to cook yourself. We only had problem with wifi connection which was very unstable. Also, they want you to pay the whole bill in cash. Compared to other apartment prices in Rome we found it quite reasonable. Whenever we had problems, the owners helped us, but being on time is flexible for them. You can communicate with them through email and phone. The lady speaks good English.

Galeria 13 has friendly and welcoming staff who bother to answer all your questions. The owner is great and often around to make sure everything runs the way it should. The coolest guys are the two dogs :) Location in Pelourinho is perfect, breakfast is fresh with eggs and sausage, on happy hour you can drink free caipirinhas in the pool. They also have a 10 bed dorm in another house where silence is priority. I would recommend the Candomblé ceremony which is a genuine cultural experience!
This unique hostel has the atmosphere! It's supercasual, but it runs perfectly. You will surely meet great people there, the staff parties with guests and anyway it's a big and crazy family :) Staying in this hostel means finding the best local parties. Also, it has lot of space in dorms and common areas. Everything is tidy as the cleaning ladies move around with their mops all the time. They have a lot of BOOKS and dvds as well, so on rainy days the living room turns to a cinema.
As good as the last time! Lovely staff who sends you caipirinha drinking invitation emails afterwards :) It's sad I didn't make it, but just thinking about Walks On The copacabana Beach makes me miss Rio :) Wish you all the best guys!
Atmosphere was casual and relaxed, everybody can go in and out whenever, usually nobody checks the door. Be prepared not to get a personal locker, then you can give your things to reception. Location is perfect, a few steps from the sea and centre. I enjoyed my time, met great people at the hostel, but if you are lonely there then the hostel staff wouldn't help, they are not very social or talkative to visitors. But Vila do Abraao is such an easy place to meet new people anyway!
It's hard to imagine staff that is more familiar, helpful and skilled to help you fall in love with Rio! Location- just a few blocks from the beach, but a quiet and safe street corner, price- very reasonable, atmosphere- very sociable staff and guests. It's good and friendly for solo travelers. More than half of the travelers went out together as a group- Lapa on Friday or Saturday, Favela Funk party on Sunday, Boat party on Monday etc.. and upstairs there's a sweet bar run by a kind carioca ;)
