There was a funky smell in our room and from the street. It didn't smell good and opening the window only made it worse. Other than that we have nothing to complain about.
I would not rekommend this place. It's very expensive (we actually paid less for a nice hotelroom just one hour north of Santa Barbara) and the toilets did hardly work. Our room was just a glass door from the common room where people had a party late and then in the middle of the night they started again. The breakfast was terrible just some pancakes that you make on your own nothing else. We where glad to just spend one night there!
For that price this place is great. Rooms are clean and nice. Nothing luxurious but very well good enough! Just across the street there is the galaxy diner with good food and nice staff!
Its a nice place, a little bit a mix between bohemian and spring break. Not as wild as spring break and not as hippie as it could be. We liked it but don't want to spend too much time there. It's also kind of far up, the street cars are cheap but sometimes you have to wait for them long. The place isen't fresh but it's not bad either - you get what you payed for. The only thing that was really bugging me was the slow Internet.

Great place nothing bug to complain about! (The wifi was little slow at times but that's all).
A great hostel. Been there twice know and if i'm going back to Sevilla i'm going to stay at Samay again. Friendly staff, clean rooms and not too expensive. The area around is also nice with bars, restaurants and parks.
