The Amazing Hostel Sayulita

Sayulita, Mexico

My friend and I stayed in the private room with bathroom ensuite. We had our own private terrace, which was the best part. Room was beautiful--big and airy, fan and AC both worked well. Owners and staff seemed quite helpful and friendly. Location is fine--nice that it's not in the center of town, so it's quiet in the evening, but the walk down the dirt road to get there got just a bit annoying by our 3rd night there.

La Iguana Perdida

Lake Atitlan, Guatemala

Overall, a decent stay. We paid a little more to stay in the deluxe suite. They advertised "cozy, warm" showers...but we had nothing but cold water. A sign on the bathroom door told us to let them know and they'd check whether the gas needed changing, and we did that, but they said there was no problem. So, we lived with it. Ants crawling all over the sink in our bathroom--more or less to be expected in Guatemala though. Dinner was delicious on Saturday (BBQ), less impressive Sunday.

Shelter Jordan

Good location, nice place to stay. Breakfast is a good value (included). The bible study which delayed them from starting breakfast right at 8am was mildly annoying, but other than that, atmosphere was pleasant and good.

Ostello S. Fosca

Venice, Italy

This hostel really had everything we needed. It's nice that it's located in the main part of Venice, so you don't have to leave the city center. It's got a nice common area, functional kitchen, comfortable beds and clean bathrooms. My only complaint was that hours were so restricted. No one at the front desk between noon and 3pm (annoying when your train arrives at 11:45am), and the kitchen doesn't open in the morning until 8:00am (hard to eat when your train leaves at 8:05am).

Convenient location, really close to train station. Clean dorms, nice layout to them. Good vibe in the room. I liked that our light generally stayed on until midnight or 1am so that no one fumbled around when coming in in the dark. (But note that a sleep mask might be a good idea). Disliked: there's a kitchen, but a sign asking you to only use the fridge as the other services are for staff only. Charged for towels. No brochures or toursit info offered other than their own overpriced.

Awesome! Great value for the money, couldn't have asked for more in a hostel.
