We were welcomed by the very friendly staff. This hostel is in a great location in the old town. I really enjoyed sitting on the balcony looking out onto the cobbled streets. Rooms were basic but had plenty of fans making it very cool, a must in hot Cartagena. In all a friendly small hostel, and great place to chill out in Cartagena.
This is a basic hostel, which is reflected in the price, so much cheaper than you can get in the surrounding area and probably the whole of Colombia. Staff were friendly, and a small breakfast (eggs or pancakes when we were there) was provided in the morning, which is always great. It was an okay place to stay but I think we have been so spoilt for amazing hostels in Colombia we were a little underwhelmed, but as I said it is cheaper so its a get what you pay for thing.
Beautiful place to stay, right by the beach and with a pool it is perfect for relaxing. It is quite expensive but then your staying in a place much better than most hostels, more like a resort. Food is good. The only negatives as a backpacker were no kitchen and you have to pay for wifi, but sometimes it's nice not to have to cook and to disconnect from the world.
I can not stress enough how great this hostel is, we loved it so much we made it our base for exploring the surrounding area for three weeks. Staff are brilliant, friendly and helpful. The location is perfect for accessing places like Taganga, Tayrona, Palomino etc. Although always busy it never feels too much with space if you want to chill or people drinking if you want something livelier. It felt more like a hotel than a hostel as standards were so high.
A good value hostel, with everything you need kitchen, wifi, TV, DVDs etc. Big garden to sit out in.
A rustic but comfortable hostel. We were pleasantly surprised on arrival to have been allocated a private room (we had booked a dorm for the first night as no privates seemed available) as well as being offered breakfast, which changed each day, it was nice to have variety! The hostel was sociable without being too loud, with lots of places to relax and a kitchen to cook in. In all a great base for exploring Bogota.
Possibly our favourite hostel in our 9 months in South America. It has an endless maze of areas to relax and socialise. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms were lovely spacious and clean. The kitchen was well equipped all be it very manic with lots of people cooking. Just a great hostel to stay in, you will find yourself spending longer than anticipated.
A really nice hostel with a great back yard area to relax in. Helpful friendly staff and big clean bedrooms. It was also in a really nice area of Cali with lots of nice cafes and bars.
Our stay was okay but at times the staff weren't great. There didn't seem to be anyone in charge it was just run by travellers volunteering, who weren't massively helpful and messed up our booking and bill. Saying that it wasn't horrendous, it sufficed for a night (the beds are really comfy) and it had a great location.
Amazingly friendly helpful staff who gave us a very thorough introduction to the hostel
Really enjoyed this hostel, staff were really friendly
Really great hostel, staff were some of the friendliest around. Beds were big for dorms and really comfortable. The terrace is great for relaxing day and night. Lots of brilliant facilities and right near lots of shops
Great lively place. Run some really good tours, was good having a pool as it got really hot in the day. Rooms were small but comfortable. There is a bar where there are some reasonable offers on food, the BBQ was really tasty.
Great room for the price. My only criticism is the description said kitchen but there was no kitchen for us to use. Other than that good place to stay while in Nazca.
Nice basic but comfortable rooms, with what is now a luxury for us... 2 pillows each. We had the best wifi we have had in the last 6 months in S. America. The hostel is close to the main tourist strip, and we used them to book our floating islands tour. The only negative is that they charged us 40soles for our bus tickets to Puno, when they gave us the tickets before we left the price said 20 soles. I understand that we pay commission for them booking but 20 soles was really steep.
We only stayed at Adventure Brew having been in Wild Rover before. We had a private room which was spacious with a clean bathroom, the only downside was the bed was on the small side. The main pro of Adventure brew was it was really quiet. If we returned again we would stay here over Wild Rover for that reason.
We moved to this hostel after staying in quite a lively one so we could relax and enjoy what Cusco had to offer. I am so glad we did this, the rooms and bathrooms were really clean, they are more of the standard you would expect from a nice b&b than a hostel. Every morning we received eggs, fruit smoothie and the usual bread and jam for breakfast. It also had the best wifi we had encountered in the last two months in S.America. If you want a nice, homely place to stay in Cusco this is the one.
Great little place to relax when in Sucre. Really close to the market and only 10mins from the plaza. Rooms are big, lght and clean, although if your a late sleeper it may be too light in the morning. There is a good size kitchen, and huge tv with lots of DVDs to watch. In all not a bad place to spend time.
Couldn't be more centrally located, a good stop off before or after the salt flats. Big comfy beds, hot showers. But no wifi (although there are plenty of Internet cafes).
Located in a great neighbourhood. Rooms are big and clean but can be noisy especially the private at the front. Breakfast was really good.
Great hostel in a really nice neighbourhood. Bedding and pillows are so comfy its a great treat. Staff were really friendly, we had some great nights drinking with them. A lot of guests who are no longer staying there seem to return, some may like this some may not, but it does tell you it's a great hostel.
Amazing hostel, it is the only place I have given 100% too on our trip so far. Really good value. Breakfasts amazing worth getting up for even after too much wine. Free wine happy hour is the best idea in a hostel yet at everyone has an excuse to socialise. There are lots of activities and trips to join some of which are amazing value such as empanada making (it's free with more free wine) and pizza party. Staff are also great. You really must stay here.
Amazing place, more of a b&b than a hostel. The garden is beautiful and rooms really comfortable. Breakfast was amazing with Danishes, a real treat! And it is served to you at the table! Cafayate is so small that everything is really central.
Basic but nice hostel, close walk to bus station or main plaza. Social areas are a bit small and only one bathroom locked but other than that bedrooms were big and it was a good base for exploring Salta.
Good place to stay, staff were really helpful and informative. Great asado on the Friday night. Clean rooms, located near to the main plaza.
Huge hostel in a great location. Rooms were nice and clean. We only moved here as our hostel we had been staying in was fully booked for further dates, it's a good base for a short stay but not really cosy, or sociable with much of an atmosphere if you are travellers like us and want somewhere long term.
Really great hostel, close enough to the centre and San Telmo to be able to walk nearly everywhere if you wish, great transport links if not. The hostel itself is huge with two great areas to relax (or party) whatever your into. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There were lots of tours available and staff were on hand to give advice, Would definitely recommend.
An okay place to stay, location is great. Kitchen and bathrooms were good, dorms were basic. The downside was no heaters and in the huge rooms it makes it very cold, in current climate.
Utter bliss. We came here to just relax and unplug from the world and this is exactly what they offer. Sitting watching the sunset with local wine, or enjoying one of the delicious meals then relaxing by the fire or in the sauna is a must. You don't have to want to go horse riding to stay here (although it is obviously a good place if you do). It really is a must go to place.
Great staff. In good location, a nice area to walk around and easy to get a bus into the centre. Had a varied clientele, quite a few seemed to be living there or were long term guests so wasn't your typical lively backpacker haunt but suited us as base to see the sites and then relax in the evening.
Brilliant place, the staff really know how to run a hostel. Group meals and hostel trips were are great way to socialise with other guests. We stayed for 4 nights and would of happily spent longer if we hadn't already made plans, as there is so much to do & it is such a great place to relax.
Really good hostel. The rooms were comfy and clean and the breakfast was the best we have had so far. The hostel staff were brilliant at assisting with booking trips and us journeys.
A small, quiet hostel in a great neighbourhood, with lots of great cafes, bars and restaurants. Close to the metro system. Staff were really helpful. It was an ideal place to chill in the hectic city that is São Paulo.
Our favourite hostel in Brazil so far. Staff were welcoming from the moment we walked in to the end. Great place to meet other travellers. Facilities were also great, there were two kitchens!! Good bathrooms. Overall a very good hostel.
Great place, the staff were extremely helpful. It was well located on the beach front. Quieter than the neighbouring hostels, which was perfect for us as you got a good night’s sleep but could join in the fun with drinks in the hostel bar across the road. Rooms were brilliant, definitely one of the best places we have stayed in Brazil.
The hostel itself was good the rooms were big, quite clean; despite this our experience was negative, like other reviews we had read, this place can be let down by staff. On arrival they seemed to have no reference of our booking, we were shown to dorm despite saying we had booked a private & paid for it. When we left we were told we hadn't paid and needed to pay. After some debates and phone calls it was agreed we had paid. Also there was a lot of noise most nights from music being played.
Great value hostel, staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Rooms and bathrooms were really clean. The location was perfect. We were amazed at what you got for the money.
This hostel was okay but not great compared to others I have been to in Brazil. Everywhere smelt of damp, and the kitchen was outside so lots of bugs around when cooking. Positives were a good location and helpful staff.
Ideally located near the Pelorinho and lots of bars and restaurants. The staff couldn't of been more welcoming and helpful in advising places to go and things to do in Salvador. Would thoroughly recommend it.
