This hostel is simply amazing. If you go to Milan you have to stay here. A special thanks to Eva for always being so helpful and friendly! If I am back in Milan, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Ostello Gallo D'Oro

Florence, Italy

This hostel has great facilities, friendly staff and the best breakfast I have ever seen at a hostel (it is amazing!). It is a bit far from the main attractions, but they are still within walking distance, and it is close to the main train station, which makes day trips from Florence easier. There are big lockers in the rooms, and as it is a fairly small hostel, it is very easy to make friends, and there is a nice atmosphere.

This hostel is a bit far from the city centre, but it is in a nice part of Rome, close to good cafes, artisan shops and restaurants. The staff are friendly, the breakfast is nice, the lockers are large and the hostel is clean. The dorms are also very spacious and well equipped with reading lights, bedside tables and hanging space. A great place to stay in Rome!

Himara Hostel

Himare, Albania

This hostel has a wonderful atmosphere! We really loved the hammocks and the cute puppy that kept us company while we were there. A relaxing place to stay in Himare. The facilities are good, with lockers and clean bathrooms. However, while the staff were friendly, they did not know a lot about bus times.

Dear guest, All the bus schedules are written on the free city map that every guest gets when they arrive. If we failed however to deliver bus info it was probably for buses connecting other cities of Albania (not with Himara). As you may already know all public transport in Albania is done by private (small) companies something that doesn't allow us to know everything about bus schedules. Thank you

We have never experienced hospitality like we received at this hostel! It was easy to get to know people and tomi is a brilliant host: bbqs on the beach, personally accompanied us to the bus and made my friend soup when she was sick. This hostel made Sarande! Definitely recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Sarande

This hostel and the affiliated pink palace (they are basically the same thing) are more suited to people looking to get spend their time in corfu drunk on a beach. Some of the staff were friendly, but others were less helpful in giving information not related to the activities offered by the hostel. Breakfast and dinner were good value for money but cleanliness could be improved. Close to the beach, but a 45min bus ride from corfu town.

This hostel is super clean and spacious and the staff are very helpful and friendly. I stayed here one night and wished I could have stayed longer. The doors to the rooms don't lock, but there are lockers in the rooms that can fit large backpacks into them. It also can get a little noisy, so bring earplugs. But overall one of the best hostels I've stayed at!!

This hostel has a nice atmosphere, the staff are generally friendly and the activities offered by the hostel were good. It is a bit far away from the centre of town, but the shuttle runs frequently. Overall a nice place to stay.

Staying in this hostel is a bit like staying in hogwarts. The building has great character and the facilities are nice and clean. It is close to the tube station and bus stops. A great place to stay.

A good hostel to stay in Oxford! The staff are very friendly and the location is fantastic. However, the rooms are a bit small and it can get a bit noisy (although the free earplugs provided help a lot).

This hostel was average, the staff were friendly and the location is good but the facilities could use some improvement. The lockers under the bed were broken so security wasn't the best. Also, the chill out room is out of the way so the atmosphere wasn't the best. But not too bad to stay for a night or two.

I had a great time here. The staff were friendly and it was really easy to meet people! I appreciated the free soft drinks and the great breakfast with omelettes. The plentiful lockers in the rooms and hallways were great. The only thing that I would have liked to see improved was the cleanliness and desperate male and female bathrooms. But otherwise it was great!

Spire Hostel

Dublin, Ireland

This hostel was ok. The shower arrangement really was annoying as it had nowhere to hang your clothes inside the cubicle doors, making getting dressed very difficult! Kitchen was pretty good and breakfast was standard - the chocolate spread was yummy though! I wish there had been lockers in the rooms rather than only two floors down near reception. Location is pretty good, not too far from things but not so close to Temple Bar that it is noisy at night.

The Allen Lee Hotel

Washington DC, USA

This place was fine to stay in. The building could really use a bit of paint and the carpet should be replaced which would make it much more pleasant and a better atmosphere. Otherwise the facilities were fine for a budget hotel, although the wifi gets turned off at 12am and doesn't work in the rooms. The staff were generally quite helpful.

This hostel is in a nice area of Chelsea, not too far from the subway and close to shops. The staff were nice in being flexible and allowing is to change rooms which was great. The private double room was spacious although the ensuite was quite small. For breakfast the bagels and fruit were better than just toast and cereal. The eating area was closed off at 11pm though, and the wifi didn't work in the rooms, which meant that we had no wifi after 11pm which was annoying

Canadiana Backpackers Inn

The staff here were friendly and overall the facilities were ok BUT the twin room was TINY, we could barely move inside it which made things really difficult. Also, although most of the facilities were clean, there was hair all over the mattress protectors when we arrived which was quite off-putting! They did replace it straight away when I asked but even that one was not as clean as it should be!

Thanks for the review. We are sorry that you were unsatisfied with the size of the room. Hopefully the character that comes with Victorian homes made up for the lack of space. Thanks for your feedback re: mattress protectors: we will be checking these more frequently.

HI-Ottawa Jail Hostel

Ottawa, Canada
80%

We were staying in an old jail cell, which we were somewhat prepared for. However the room was quite small and noises echoed quite badly across the corridor, so watch out for that. The staff were friendly, and the tour of the jail was pretty good. Breakfast was very nice, far beyond the standard cereal and toast! Pretty good for one night, but not sure if I'd want to stay for a long time!

This hostel was quite nice although a little pricey, particularly if you are not a hi member. The double room with ensuite was very spacious. Breakfast was ok and the kitchen and eating area was comfortable. Only thing that would have made the stay nicer would be a lift, as we had a lot of luggage and had to go up many sets of stairs!
