Travellers Palm

Centrally located with easy access to sights, transport and cheap restaurants. Felt pretty secure, but sometimes there weren't enough lockers. The owner was friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable, a/c good. Dorms could have used a little more luggage space and power outlets for each bed would have been nice. Decent wi-fi, with reception in rooms. Breakfast basic but ok. Overall good value.

Good location near monorail, shops and cheap food. Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and kept an eye on who was coming and going. Everything was clean and bathroom was good. Basically everything was good, nice little place and I would definitely go back.

Located close to many sights, but it's right in the centre of a busy tourist street so you have to deal with huge crowds every time you want to go anywhere. Rooms were clean and comfortable, but security could be a little better. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wifi good (only common areas), drinks/snacks were good price but laundry was expensive. Free breakfast decent. Overall pretty good place, expensive compared to most of China but reasonable by Beijing standards.

Good location, right across the road from metro station. WiFi ok. Bathrooms were good. Dorm felt a little dark but beds were comfy and the curtains on beds were a nice touch. Big common area with pool table, although we never got a chance to play it was always being used. Food was pretty expensive but cheap restaurants nearby. Staff helpful. Overall, a good place to stay in Chengdu.

The location is very good, next to the river with cheap food nearby. Easy walk to the bus station, handy as a base for day trips or if you're just passing through. Staff were the best I saw in China: helpful, spoke good English and really did their best to make sure everyone was having a good time. Internet was decent, good reception in rooms. Beds comfortable, dorms cleaned regularly, a/c good and lockers spacious. Bathrooms clean with both western and Chinese toilet. Common room good too. Near

Easy to find, not sure what the problem there is. Staff were good, and you can get a bus to tiger leaping gorge from here. Good common area. Food pretty good too. Dorms varied a bit, the 8 bed was uncomfortable but the 4 bed was great. One thing is there is construction right nearby, so not the best place to chill during the day, at least for the moment.

Does what it says on the tin. Clean rooms, good AC, comfortable beds, free breakfast on check out. Lockers big but not all that strong, and the bar is expensive. Busy place so make sure you book ahead, even in low season.

Good location, easy to get to town or the beach. Staff were friendly, but the place was so busy they were a bit overworked. Lockers weren't very sturdy, and our room lock was broken so we couldn't lock it. Rooms and bathroom were clean, and the shower was even in a separate area! This is the busiest place for backpackers in town, so booking in advance is often necessary. Finally, the free breakfast is really very good, heaps of good food not just toast and coffee.

Great location right near sights, transport and restaurants. Amazing staff: friendly, helpful, able to assist booking of tours and transport. Rooms do vary a bit, one I stayed in had flimsy lockers and creaky beds, while the other had good strong lockers and sturdy bunks. I would recommend the 4 bed dorm.

Pak-Up Hostel

Cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. Ticks all the boxes for what you want in a hostel. There are cheaper places in town, but if you are looking for somewhere comfortable to get clean after days without a proper shower, this is the place.

Good location, clean, comfortable beds, hot shower, free drinking water. Small, chilled out place, close to bts and airport link station. Had a minor issue where I was over charged slightly, but otherwise a great experience. Would visit again for sure.
