Southern Fried Rice

Phuket, Thailand

The location is the best part - just a short maybe 5-10 minute walk to the gorgeous Kata Beach. The rooms are spacious and the staff helps you plan any activities. The free breakfast was a bit of a let down after staying at some other hostels in Thailand- only included toast and fruit, no eggs or protein.

Tanita House

Chiang Mai, Thailand

The lady who runs the hostel will become like your Thai mother- she arranges breakfast for you (even early if you have an activity!), plans out your entire trip, and makes sure you are comfortable. Tanita House really felt like a home by the time we left. The little teak wooden houses are very spacious and there is a lot of variety to choose from at breakfast. It is a bit of a walk to the main part of town but there are lots of fun bars along the way.

Khaosan Baan Thai

Bangkok, Thailand

Great location near Khaosan road but a bit of a journey to some of the main tourist attractions. Breakfast was included and was great...as was the little coffee stand on the corner (try the iced coffee frappe or mango smoothie). The lady who runs the hostel is great and will help you with directions and in planning any activities.

Shin-Okubo Sekitei

Tokyo, Japan

There is one particular guy who works here who will literally run to help you out...he is amazing. The location of the hostel is also perfect- right on the main subway lines and close to lots of places to eat. Very clean and fun little traditional style rooms. I would highly recommend this hostel and would stay here again!
