One of my favourite hostels! Really homely vibe and met an amazing group of people. The hostel was also well kept and clean. Reasonably close to the city centre and the metro station. There's also a good variety of decent bars/restaurants within walking distance - would thoroughly recommend

Clean hostel close to the train station. However much more could have been done to create a social atmosphere (no hostel activities and instead directed to an app to meet people which no one used!)

Great hostel with a very friendly family atmosphere. The home cooked food is particularly good. The daily tours are a fantastic insight to the local history with lots of fun along the way. Would thoroughly recommend.

Solid hostel with very good quality and comfortable rooms. The tours however are a bit pricey and there is a pressure to go out drinking (reinforced by a wierd rule that you get free breakfast if you go out!) Good atmosphere though if you do.

Great roof terrace where we watched the football/ met fellow travellers. Comfortable, secure rooms with a/c which was a great relief in summer! Would recommend.

Very relaxed and friendly hostel - great atmosphere. Had the option of hiring bikes and the owner was extremely helpful with tips of things to do and even offered us some homemade raki! Would thoroughly recommend.

It’s a joke to call this a hostel. You can’t cook for yourselves, dorm rooms are 8 people in a tiny tin hut. If you want to stay in the main social area - you are forced to purchase from the restaurant or overpriced ‘market’ (e.g 3-4 Euro for cheap lager in a can). There is security enforcing this and you can’t bring your own food/drinks at all. Most of the area shuts at midnight leaving you with the option of going back to your room or go to a club. Would strongly recommend avoiding this place.
So you do find normall to bey food from super market and then to come lay down my sun beds infront of the sea cost and the pool and eat or drink them . very nice and then what my businness about ? on your business in your restaurant i will come with food from the market opossite and i will eat there .is any problem with that?

Although in a reasonable location, the dorm rooms were not ideal. The kitchenette was in the bedroom and there were no lockers. It really isn’t a hostel vibe and very expensive for what it is. The staff in the morning didn’t speak a great deal of English and weren’t able to help store my luggage - more likely couldn’t be bothered to as well

By far one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in. The owner and staff create a great atmosphere for both solo and group travellers. There’s a decent pool, two lounges and a great roof terrace where you can meet loads of other travellers. I actually extended my stay by 3 nights - couldn’t recommend more.

One of the cheapest hostels when I was in Santorini. Functional, although it is next to the main road which is unpleasant. The staff are rather disengaged as well. If price is not your only priority then try somewhere else.

Really enjoyed my stay here - great staff, really nice pool and BBQ area as well as a roof terrace. Located 5 mins away from a 24 hour, excellent quality/value bakery. They also have an extremely cute puppy. Could not recommend more.

Unfortunately this hostel really fell below expectations for an above 8 rated hostel. Despite its name it’s quite far from the centre of town. Firstly it started with trouble finding the hostel - the sign is currently non-existent and the front door is advertising real estate. No lockers available, only small drawers. My bed was right next to the toilet in the room. Pillow was old/cheap and uncomfortable and there is no a/c - a busy street even in the evenings so rather loud. Do not recommend
Dear Jonathan, We are very sorry you didn't enjoy our hostel for the 1 nights reservation that you had. You arrived to the hostel very late and looked very tired & frastrated from your travelling as you said all day so that's probably why you never saw the sign out the front and number of the hostel. For the price that you paid with everything provided and free breakfast it was quite a good deal one of the best in Chania for high season. The hostel is only a 10-12min walk to the city centre as we already state on our page with just a stone throw away from the local beach so really we can't understand why such a harsh comment and low rating from you. We also allow our guests to stay in our hostel garden at no extra cost for all day using our facilities even after check out from their dorm like you did and still weren't satisfied? Ciao & Happy travells!

Modern, clean hostel and a great whatsapp group where you can meet other travellers. I was charged for one night’s stay up front without my knowledge which was a shock when I arrived though - I would publicise this better on the description. Otherwise the best choice in Chania!

Friendly hostel with a great living room area. Perhaps needs a few more showers but other than that a perfectly good place to stay!
Thank you for your comment. When we are fully booked, some guests might have to wait for a while to use shower, sorry for the inconvenience. Please come back in the near future :)

Modern facilities, capsule style beds were comfortable/clean and offered a bit more privacy. Events organised and well stocked bar. Great location close to the train station so would certainly recommend

Friendly hostel with a lovely garden where you can chill out. Only complaint is that it took me nearly an hour to be served a drink and some breakfast in the cafe!
Hello! Thank you for your review. We are glad to know you liked your stay with us. We are sorry you had to wait so long for your breakfast. We will look into why this happened and make sure this was the only incident. We hope you would give us a chance to host you again on any of our 15 hostels across the country. Cheers! Zostel

The tour I booked with you to the sand dunes arrived back an hour late (meaning I missed half of my massage I had booked before) and it took 10 minutes of discussion before I was taken seriously by your receptionist who then phoned and confirmed what I had said. My friend was also feeling very ill and when I asked where medical assistance the (other) receptionist was very indifferent (was more interested in something else) and just said go and see 'doctor dong' - rude and unsatisfactory.

Good hostel near the sky train. Staff were very helpful and the hostel was clean.

Lockers were a joke - two lockers under the bed didn't have a partition at all meaning if you locked your stuff up someone could simply open the door adjacent and access your stuff. Staff weren't particular friendly either but at least it was cheap.

Liked the pool and bar area, although it should have been open past 8PM! Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Breakfast staff were a bit rude trying to take our bowls away when we hadn't finished eating yet.

Clean, spacious rooms and good quality facilities in rooms, toilets and common areas. Would suggest the introduction of secure lockers in rooms but otherwise a great hostel and location.
Thanks a million for your review and we are delighted that you enjoyed our facilities :)) We have plenty of secure lockers on the corridors which are free to use ( just bring your own lock, or you can buy one at reception ) from our own travels there is nothing worse than someone rustling through lockers/bags in the room at whatever hours :)) We hope to see you again soon !! Regards from all the team @rowantreehostel #visitennis

Good location and friendly staff. The trays under the beds can't have a padlock attached which I would suggest fixing.

Very friendly staff and loved the location of the hostel! I would consider turning the heating a lot more as it was quite cold or offering more portable heaters. Also I would suggest introducing secure lockers in rooms.
Hi there, Thanks for your comments. Please Please Please just call to reception for anything you need anything! We have free secure lockers in the reception area. We have extra portable heaters at reception if any guests wants them. Kilronan Team!
