Really good hostel located in a safe neighbourhood and central to most attractions. They put on excursions each day, the BBQ and tango lessons are a must. The facilities are good with great showers and hot water which is a bonus if visiting Buenos Aires during the winter. It's a sociable hostel and the 6th floor has a great terrace to have a few drinks with fellow travellers whilst overlooking the skyline of BA.
Quaint hostel located a few blocks from the bus station and a handy hypermarket for shopping. You can get a cheap bus to the airport or Iguacu. The hostel itself is clean, you get blankets for those cold nights. The water could have been hotter especially if visiting during the winter.
In the thick of things, located in the heart of Lapa mere yards away from the nightlife. It's a cheap hostel but sleeping in 23 person dorm may be off-putting to some people. Breakfast was good and ample, the free caipirinhas on Friday and Saturday night always appreciated. Only thing that lets this hostel down is that for the amount of people it can house there isn't enough facilities.
Top facilities with lots of showers always offering hot which is a rarity. Staff are very helpful at planning your stay in rio, offering some great recommendations for tours. Location is about 5 mins from Leblon beach so you can get ample beach time! The outdoor area is great to share a few caipirinhas and meet travellers. The area of Leblon is very safe to walk around, even at night. Be aware that the Rio metro line currently doesn't extend to Ipanema or Leblon but taxis and buses are cheap.
Excellent price and location for Rio, you immediately feel welcomed and 'part of the family', a great way to meet fellow travellers. Facilities are excellent with some of the best beds I've stayed in. Nico and Jorge ensure you have a good time and I'd definitely return. Oh and the copious amounts of 'lethal' welcome Caipirinhas weren't too bad either!!!
More like a hotel resort than a hostel, this hostel made my stay in Bocas even better! The facilities are clean and well-maintained. The family who run the hostel have good links so if you need a water taxi/boat for the day to island hop then they can sort and at a reasonable price to compared to other tour operators. The hostel isn't in the main bocas town but the 3 free shuttle services make up for that. Overall Pukalani Hostel is a must if you're visiting Bocas Del Toro!
Good sized hostel located in the heart of the main La Fortuna town so your close to all amenities and tour operators which is a big time saver. Hostel is very clean and the pool is a bonus after a hard day trekking volcanoes!
A gem of a hostel in San Pedro. My stay here was great, mainly thanks to the staff Jane, Kate and co. They are extremely attentive to all guests and really help if required, to plan your journey around Costa Rica. The hostel facilities are very good and clean. Nice little garden area to chill, savour Friday night homemade pizzas and whilst providing a great mechanism to meet fellow travellers. Overall Hostel Urbano was probably the best I stayed in when travelling through Central America!
This is a lively hostel in South Beach, you're so close to the beach, nearby bars and restaurants. Hostel is cleaned 4 times a day so no worries about your room, etc. The 3 meals a day is a rarity in hostels and are actually tasty. Good selection of nights out you can book through the hostel to ensure entry into places like Nikki Beach, Mansion, Story, etc. Only gripes are that some staff aren't that helpful providing information, also be sure to shop around for deals on excursions/tours.
