Showbiz Inn is on the busiest and most exciting road in Yangshuo. I would definitely recommend staying here! Bikes are very easy to organise and the staff are helpful with giving tips and ideas about what to do in Guilin. Make sure you take a bamboo raft and ride a bike around Guilin. The desk staff will show you some different routes! The breakfast was ok and the rooms were really nice and clean. I would definately stay at Showbiz Inn if i go back to Yangshuo
Wada is awesome! The staff are so nice and helpful. They made the trip to Guilin so much better! They organised cars when our flight was delayed and gave us a lot of tips on how to explore guilin city and get to Yangshuo. The rooms were really nice and the beds were comfortable. The courtyard is a great place to relax and meet people, and across the road is an outdoor pedestrian mall with western food and shops.
The Hump is a great place to stay in Kunming. The rooftop bar is a great place to relax and i had a great time. The staff at the desk were a little forgetful, so just remind them a few times if you need something done. The food was really nice and the restaurant staff are so friendly. I dont have any complaints about the rooms/bathrooms. Everything was well kept. There is also a notice board with information on tours and things to do in and around Kunming
Panba was a great hostel to stay at. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms were nice. The staff were very helpful when helping us organise our trip to Tiger Leaping gorge and there is a bus that can be organised each morning to take you to the gorge. The hostel is at the end of one of the main streets in Lijiang old town, not far from the busiest areas. It is much quieter at night which is something you want, because there are SO many tourists in Lijiang old city.
Greenforest Hostel was great!!! The rooms and bathrooms were all brand new, the wifi was fast, the breakfast was nice and the staff were really helpful!!. The hostel took everyone out for hotpot one night and then for a tourist view of the night scenery of ChongQing! Everyone had a great time and it was awesome to meet other people travelling around China. Greenforest also offeres a lot of tours and information about the city. I would stay here every time i go to ChongQing!!
FlipFlop was a GREAT hostel. It was in a great location (near metro, busses, shopping district and 5 minutes walk from all the pubs, bars and clubs). The staff were really helpful organising tours to the pandas and giving travel advice. There was even a dumping making party! A lot of fun and a great way to meet people. The lobby has heaps of lounges and the food and drinks were great. Laundry service also available. Definitely recommend!!
We arrived late at night and the staff quickly got us into a room. They overbooked so upgraded us to a nicer room which was really nice. The hostel is just south of the river, about 15 minutes walk to anything but still in a good location near the long distance busses and there are plenty of cabs. The breakfast was really nice! Overall a great hostel
There are many hotels in this area, but i was lucky enough to find this hotel. It was in a perfect location only 5-10 minutes walk from the main entrance to Jiuzhaigou Scenic area. The rooms were nice and clean and there was 24 hour hot water. The staff gave us information about busses due to their cancellation as a result of the floods in Sichuan province. The restaurant in the lobby had really nice food (chinese and western). We booked a tour to huanglong which was affordable and easy!
Ancient City is one of the nicest hostels i have stayed at. It is brand new and everything is very clean. The staff are very helpful and most speak enough english to get everything done (if you cant speak any chinese). It is only 5 minutes walk to the Bell Tower/Drum Tower and Muslim Quarter and directly across the road is the metro. The hostel is a little hard to find because there is no sign, but just look behind the police station on the corner when you exit the hostel. DEFINITELY STAY HERE
I really enjoyed my time at this hostel. I booked a twin room with my friend. It had a shared bathroom which was fine for us. We arrived at 3:30am due to a delayed flight and although it was not a 24 hour reception, the staff were awake waiting for us and helped us sort out the room. We even booked a tour for the next day at 3:30 in the morning! I was really impressd with the hostel for the price that we paid. Tip: Hohhot Museum is not open on mondays which it doesnt say in any travel guides.
I really enjoyed my time at Anda Guesthouse. It was directly opposite a busy food street and a few bars. Just down the road is bus station 79 which goes to the main tourist area of Hohhot City. The staff were very helpful with sorting out train tickets and giving directions. We booked a 2 day tour of the desert with Anda guesthouse and it was definitely something i would reccommend. The price was really good and the desert is amazing! Qing was the guide and was great to spend time with.
