Casa Sweety

Cartagena, Colombia

Stayed 2 nights at Casa Sweety at the end of our 17 day Colombian vacation. Cartagena is an expensive city for accommodations and at 60,000$, this is the most we paid anywhere in Colombia. Sweety has really good breakfasts... changes daily and made fresh. The location is great - about 10 mins walk from the old city and right in the Zona Rosa. The room is VERY basic and has absolutely no character. On the plus, it has cable TV, good bed, and private washroom. NOT a party/social hostel @ all.

La Masia Summer Hostel

Taganga, Colombia

Very social, well maintained hostel a bit on the edge of town. The walk to the beach is about 7 minutes down an unpaved road. The hostel itself is beautiful with a large and very nice swimming pool in the middle. Rooms have A/C but it only goes on from 10 - 7. The A/C in our room worked very well! Taganga is HOT... splurge and take a room w/ A/C!

Casa del Ritmo

Santa Marta, Colombia

Great place run by some excellent and very friendly people! The owner is especially awesome! The hostel is very close to the beaches of El Rodadero which are very nice. There is a very chill courtyard with a pool and hammocks. On the weekends this area really gets exciting, but during the week it is definitely more peaceful than Taganga.
