Great staff, fun and knowledgeable. Enes in particular is pretty awesome. Good atmosphere. Location isn't particularly close to the nightlife (except for the excellent Bukowski rock bar) or the beach, but is only a quick bus or cheap taxi away from both - 15 Reais to Copacabana - and there are many shops around. Safe neighbourhood, more traditional/residential, so it's great to get a good feel of life in Rio. There are better hostels, but this is a good place to stay in any case, no worries!

The hostel is very clean, comfortable and safe. You get your own locker and padlock, staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, breakfast is good, and there's wifi, a computer and bikes available for rent. there's a guitar, a large backyard and planned activities for guests. on the negative, location is kind of out of the way (although buses run frequently enough to compensate). would stay again.

Thank you for your good review. Let me say that our neighborhood is one of the bests in the city! We aren't in the centre, that some times can be noisy and a little dangerous, but very close to it and to the Historic Centre (just 15 min walking). Besides that, we have restaurants, supermakets and buses 3 min from here that goes to many places! Come back when possible! :)

Good: Excellent staff - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Location is a bit out of the way, taxis don't pass often, but buses make the situation manageable when they're running. Swimming pool. Good atmosphere. Good breakfast. Clean. Bad: Lockers too small to hold most bags, and no locks are provided. Wi-fi available but only 1 computer for public use.

Positive: Excellent location. Nice and clean. 24-hour curfew is great. Padlock rental (money back at the end) was great, as usual i forgot my own so this came in handy. Kitchen is great, large, clean and well-equipped. Despite the size, the atmosphere doesn't suffer much, still easy to meet people and do fun stuff. Negative: Staff seemed a bit uninterested but they were on hand when necessary. Need to care more for the hostel computers, the keyboards were terrible.

AMAZING staff, from the reception team to the bar guy, extraordinarily friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I can't stress this enough - they really make this an exceptional hostel! Awesome atmosphere, many guests were hanging out and partying together by the end of our stay. Beds aren't very comfortable but fine for our 4-day stay. Nice touches: good hostel bar (great atmosphere), kitchen, cheap towel rental, computers and wifi. Great location for bus/metro and beach access.

Had a great time in Rio and at the hostel! It's clean and spacious and the staff is very friendly. Met a few other guests, some even joined us on a day out. Good computers available for those of us not travelling with a smartphone or laptop, nice touch! Convenient location right next to the metro and less than 15mnts from Lapa. Definitely staying here again when I return to Rio! One thing they should start doing is separating trash for recycling.
