Granada, Spain

After many weeks on the road we were looking for a place to relax away from the city. The hostel is located in a lovely little village about 30 minutes by bus from Granada. The village has two supermarkets, a couple of bars and a restaurant, so there is no need to leave if you don't want to! We had a great day hiking to the lake and we hired kayaks with free drop off and pick up. We also enjoyed the flamenco tour, and the hostel picked us up from Granada afterwards. Great facilities.

Dar Lalla Kenza

Fez, Morocco

The hotel was in a good location in Fez, and the room was nice. However, be aware that the hostel is run by owners in their 20s and it is not 100 per cent professional, or what you would expect from a hostel. We were told to go to another close by hostel for meals and to book tours, and there were no kitchen facilities etc. Breakfast was really nice.

Fabrizzios Terrace Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain

Really awesome hostel with a nice atmosphere. Clean and spacious rooms, nice common areas and excellent facilities including a kitchen with everything you need. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the location is great. The free breakfast is good as well. We will definitely stay again if we return to Barcelona.

A great hostel. The courtyard and bar area give the hostel a great atmosphere. Cooking facilities are great, and staff were very helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious.

Ines Downtown B&B

Rome, Italy

We had a really nice room with a television, ensuite and tea and coffee etc. The B&B was in a great location close to the main train station. The kitchen facilities were great. Roberto was really lovely and helpful, and the fridge was stocked with bread, butter, cheeses, spreads and cereal that were available all day. We had a great stay.

Hotel Umbria

Perugia, Italy

The hotel was in an excellent location in the heart of Perugia Old Town, close to all restaurants, bars and the supermarket. Our room was clean with a good bathroom, balcony, and TV. Good value for a basic hotel room.

Hotel Ariston

Venice, Italy

Hotel Ariston was good value and a good spot to stay during the busy tourist season for access to Venice. The hotel is an easy bus trip to Venice and is close to restaurants and supermarkets. The hotel can also order dinner from a local restaurant, and pizzas and other items are well priced. The staff were really nice, the room basic but clean. Overall a good stay.

Grand Hostel Berlin

Berlin, Germany

A great hostel. When we arrived, the staff member took the time to sit with us and explain Berlin, the best places to go to eat and drink etc. We did a bike tour and bar tour with Ben the Aussie and they were two of the best tours we have ever done. The rooms are spacious and airy and very comfortable, and the hotel has a great atmosphere. The bar down stairs is nice and open all hours. There was no kitchen, but breakfast next door was good value for the small cost.

Hillview Budget Rooms

Isle of Skye, Scotland

The room was really lovely and the location was great, overlooking the water. The bathroom facilities were excellent. There is no cooking equipment or kitchen provided, but lots of local food close by for eating out. We were allowed to check in early and leave our bags, and the staff were really nice.

Aite Cruinnichidh

Fort William, Scotland

A beautiful hostel in a stunning location in the highlands. We wished we had booked more than one night once we arrived. It is a little way out of the main centres, so best if you are travelling by car. The room was very comfortable and clean, and the kitchen facilities were excellent. The hostel owners were lovely. I would love to stay again if I had the chance.

Chase The Wild Goose Hostel

Fort William, Scotland

A standard hostel in a convenient location for exploring the Ben Nevis area, if you are travelling by car. The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the kitchen facilities were good. The staff member on duty was not interested in providing advice about the local area, which would have been useful.

McLays Guest House

Glasgow, Scotland

A nice guest house in a good location in Glasgow. Our room was very big and comfortable, with a large television. The shared bathroom facilities were clean. Breakfast was excellent, however there are no kitchen facilities for cooking. The wifi was hard to access, but that's to be expected because it is a big old building.

Belfast City Backpacker

Belfast, Northern Ireland

This was the newest and nicest hostel I have stayed in. We had a double room, which was well set out, clean and comfortable. The shared facilities were great, and felt just like home with a good kitchen and dining room and a great lounge area with big leather couches and a television. The staff were really nice. The location is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, but in the same location as most of the other hostels etc. I would definitely stay again.

Salmon Weir Hostel

Galway, Ireland

The hostel provided all the necessities and the kitchen and bathroom were clean. The room we stayed in was very small, with six beds and not much room to move or put your things. The location was a little out of the town centre but still quite convenient.
