Very clean, great breakfast. The owner is super friendly, she'll say hi each time you get back, and makes you coffee or tea in the morning as well as one on arrival. A walk into the centre from the hostel is recommended as it takes you past some nice sights in Milan. Only problem was I had a top bunk for 2 nights without a ladder or railing; getting in required a regular feat of gymnastics!
Despite the awkward name (!) Oki Doki has a terrific atmosphere! The hostel has a buzzing little bar and it's definitely easy to meet people here as a solo traveller. Well located between the old town and Centrum area. The dorms are quite small though, and the entrance is difficult to find on a first try (looks like a bank from the outside). Still highly recommended for a visit to WaWa!
Firstly the rooms here were MASSIVE. There were 4 beds in a room that could fit 10! It's a clean modern building. Great location close to restaurants and public transport. Lots of tour and other large groups.
Fairly easy to get to and from the centre from this hostel. Clean and spacious rooms, and they serve a rare hot breakfast. Staff were friendly. I spent a lot of time here playing pool in the bar :p
Nice modern facilities, spacious, quiet. Got a good night's sleep here. Needed more power points in rooms and downstairs though.
Very centrally located with a pleasant common room. The dorm was small but clean. A quiet place to meet other travellers on your own, but not impossible. The owner was super helpful and patient.
I had lower expectations for the duration of Oktoberfest but Wombats was nearly faultless. Helpful staff with great recommendations. Very clean as well.
Dorm was poor - bathrooms stank throughout the hostel, no soap, squeaky beds and a really inconvenient shortage of power points everywhere. Wifi is OK, better downstairs. I actually took to using the facilities in the hostel next door - even the internet terminals there were half the price! One staff member was kind of blunt to me, but no complaints about their service in general.
The dorm was comfortable and clean. Tram is required to get to and from the town centre, but the hotel is located right next to a shopping centre for supplies and near a McDonalds for cheap breakfasts (!). The staff aren't the warmest people around but they are helpful. if travelling solo it may be challenging to meet others here.
Had a cool time here, despite 3 rainy days in a row. Internet speed is not great - so what do you do? there's board games, movies, free pool table - bring some of your own books/games top just in case. Cosy and clean, excellent breakfast and great atmosphere; the kind of place where you get to know everyone.
Far different from other hostels. Intimate and airy atmosphere, eclectically decorated. Breakfast is free and amazing. I liked that everything from umbrellas to sewing supplies were available; I made good use of the new computer terminal too! Very friendly hosts who answered all our questions.
Cosy, small and intimate place to stay. If you stay longer than overnight, you will meet everyone else here (and I mean EVERYONE!) The terrace and kitchen are great places to hang out, and regularly cleaned. We also did the rafting pub crawl (pub float?) and though the weather turned horrendous it was still awesome fun. Wish we'd had life jackets though! Finally, this is a Busabout-recommended hostel so brace yourselves for all the Australians in summer.
Liked the thoughtful and pleasant design of the place, outside the Prague centre but accessible by trams. You can hire tram passes by the day which is great. Chilled atmosphere, and frequent events like the games night and local walking tour.
Unfortunately there is barely any atmosphere here for meeting other people here as a solo traveller. The bar at the hostel is mainly frequented by locals. The Neustadt is a great area to stay in though. Staff were accommodating with my enquiries.
I stayed here because a friend recommended it as one of the best hostels in Europe. It definitely has the BEST hostel bar I have experienced! Nice mix of long term, group and solo travellers. Location is great with plenty to do in the area, cafes, bars and food choices. The hostel runs lots of events. The place is insanely clean too. However it can be VERY noisy outside, traffic and sirens at all times of the night (though I'm a heavy sleeper).
Can't fault this place. It feels like home away from home. Special mention to the beds which were incredible!
The dorms were excellent of course, and hanging out in the kitchen was a great way to meet people! However had a constant issue with the door lock not working. Staff were super patient with me.
Brilliant hostel. Stay here when you are in Bruges! Lots of events going on, chilled place and easy to have a chat to other people (mostly families and solo travellers). The rooms were clean and new, and the hostel has a really great location, better than I expected. Construction did not impede my stay at all. Note that there are no lockers in rooms and the key is manual (last one out has to lock it!). The current kitchen is also too small but they are building a new one.
Close to Kensington High Street if you need to do shopping, and other attractions esp Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Palace. A very clean hostel too, helpful staff (when you get their attention) and functional breakfast. On the ground floor and in the stairwells it's stuffy during hot weather, but surprisingly had no trouble in our room sleeping with the 1 window open. The other guests weren't very social though. (Finally - they told about stairs, bro!)
Not a bad place to stay. Good facilities close by and nice bar, there were only 2 of us in the 4 bed dorm both nights I was there. Fairly quiet atmosphere the whole time. toilets were for the most part clean, showers less so, and 2 sets of used linen in our room weren't collected. Staff seemed more interested in socialising than service.
