Hostel Colours, Milan, Italy

27th Apr 2017

Bit of an odd hostel. They seem overly obsessed with security to the point I had to ask to borrow a knife from reception to prepare dinner as they do not have knives in the kitchen...? Also the bathroom for my room was down the corridor but had to have a key to unlock it. Hostel was quite empty too so little to no atmosphere. Very clean. A few metro stops from the major stops.

Really cool hostel with a fantastic vibe. Its spread over a few levels of a apartment building but everyone seemed to congregate on the roof which was great for socializing. My first night a couple of the staff took us for tapas and drinks, and the next night provided sangria and suggestions for where to go. Rooms are spacious with good lockers. Plenty of bathrooms (but you may need to go to a different floor to find a free one). Excellent location -only 10 min walk to all the main sites.

Really nice hostel, very friendly staff, amazing breakfast included in the stay. The dinner they cooked was amazing too and very cheap. Beds comfy and clean. Only a couple of minutes to main square. Could do with one more toilet

Really clean hostel, had a double bed in the dorm which was great. Nice common/kitchen area. Very conveniantly located. Room did not seem to have enough lockers for people. Not a great deal of atmosphere but quiet season

Good place to say if you like things relaxed and quiet, quite literally middle of nowhere - ideally need a car for this backpackers - both to get to and to explore the area. The night I was there they have an electricity free evening which is both good and bad. Can be quite difficult to find. Did not see any lockers anywhere. Bathroom fine. Not much atmosphere as very small place.

Nice hostel with amazing terrace, good atmosphere. One night they hosted a small concert and provided food and drink which was great fun. Bathrooms and kitchen nice. Did not like the three level bunk beds - very difficult to get up and down - could also do with a little shelf at top. Lockers were also variable - i had a tiny locker while others had half a wardrobe. Quite difficult to store stuff when on a top bunk with a very small locker

Good location, good wifi, staff at reception friendly but the rooms were very noisy - pipes were roaring during the night, the door didn't work, only one PowerPoint in room hidden under bed and euro hostel feels like one of those soul less mega hostels that seem to be taking over the market

Cannot talk highly enough about Ginger Monkey. Really cool looking hostel with a really homely friendly feel. All the guests felt like a big family, amazing views and hiking on the doorstep. Dan the manager is the man and went out of his way to make everyone feel welcome and organize activities. The only hostel Ive been too where there is a hostel dog who you can take for walks - wally truly is a dogstar! Close to the best atmosphere Ive experienced in a hostel

Good Bye Lenin Hostel Zakopane, Zakopane, Poland
6.9
3rd Jun 2016

It was a strange experience at Goodbye Lenin - the staff were generally very friendly and helpful - however there was a strange man who I wasn't not sure whether he worked there or was a long term resident but he seemed to get into arguments with guests and create a generally uneasy feel. The beds were a little run down with the door to my locker broken - and the kitchen is very very basic. The location is tucked away and right next to the start of hiking trails but a good 40 min walk to town.

By far and away the best and friendliest staff at any hostel to be stayed at. Excellent facilities, really social atmosphere. Events provided by hostel most days and every night. Easily one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. Only minor complaint where quite squeaky bunks. Other than that amazing!

Nice big dorm rooms with large keycard activated lockers. Beds had a lamp, plug and curtain (my lamp didn't work however). Bathrooms were nice but shower tended to flood bathroom. Staff were helpful but reception often quite busy

Facilities were good, rooms were clean and spacious. However as seems to be the case with these very large hostels it just seemed to lack atmosphere. The location couldn't have been better and the staff were very helpful.

Hey, thanks for staying with us. Happy that you liked the facilities and your time here in Copenhagen. As we are a big hostel, there is always something going on and we think this adds to the atmosphere :) Cheers, Team Generator Cph

Dorm rooms are clean, neat and spacious. Good location in red light district and only 10min walk to museums. defiantly seems to attract a more rowdy crowd who seemed to be stoned most of the time, so not recommended for those who want a more relaxed stay. Also no kitchen.
