Rafael is a stand-up guy. He generally wants you to have a pleasant stay at his hotel. If you need anything, let him know and he'll take care of it. We even booked a few excursions through him and his contacts. And when we decided to back out of one (due to a misunderstanding on our part), he stood by us to get as much money back from the travel guides and agencies who wanted to keep as much money as they could. With his help, we negotiated a fair settlement. We really appreciated that.

Decent breakfast. WiFi was only available in the basement lounge but it's a very nice lounge with plenty of seats. The breakfast there was decent, not great but not that bad either. The beds all have curtains that give each person a little privacy, which is nice if you are sharing a room with 7 other people! The location isn't too bad, just a 5 minute bus ride from Waterloo and there is a bus stop very close by (a minute away). The Elephant and Castle tube station is like a 10 minute walk.

Got 2 words for you: FREE CAKE. They bake cake all the time and offer it free to their guests, all day long. How excellent is that?! Besides that, this place is also great in all the other aspects too. Oh yeah, their breakfast was amazing. Hot foods, eggs and fantastic-tasting pizza (yes, works great for breakfast) and plenty of fresh fruit. In fact, it would probably be difficult to find a breakfast this good elsewhere around town and it's free too!

You can never go wrong staying at a Meininger. They are all clean, close to everything, friendly and all at a good price. The staff at this one was particularly nice and helpful. When checking in, I accidentally left my handheld GPS device on the counter. 15 minutes later I remembered and when I went to the counter there are like 25 people all checking it at once. Luckily, one of the honest staff members noticed it and kept it behind the counter for me. I am forever thankful. And the other staff member I in

This hostel is not located in the city center and it's a bit too far to walk (maybe a half hour?), but it's very close to a huge skiing hill. There's a giant olympic game sized ski jump literally right next to this hostel. When in use, you could actually sit on your hostel bed and view the jumpers in action if your window faced that way. Their breakfast and staff and chill-out room are all nice too!

Just your basic budget hotel. The staff seemed nice. They had their own parking spaces behind the building. You can't really walk to the nice, touristy area but given the ridiculously high cost of everything in this city, this hotel offers a good value for your money. We had no problem sleeping 3 in our room with one double-bed and one single-bed.

It is very close to the biggest nightclub in town (i.e., loud weekend nights) but it's fairly far from the tourist heart (romantic, old town part) of the city where all the shops and stores are. The outside of the hostel looks horrible with many drunk bums hanging out there, hoping to get bought cheap beer from the Lidl located i the same building. I actually got bit by homeless man's dog right on the front steps! But once you're inside the place, it's nice. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are very lar

due to complications with my itinerary, i wasn't able to stay here. however, they were very friendly and understanding to work with me over email and didn't charge me for a last-minute cancellation. i am not saying they would do this for everyone because i had a special situation. but i am saying that since they were willing to work with me, that's a great indication that they are probably friendly and helpful to all their registered guests.

if you're new to johannesburg then this is a good area to spend a few days. it's next to the university so the surrounding area is safe and there are many shops/restaurants to explore. the hostel staff were very friendly and helpful and would be able to assist with just about anything. just ask!

Pretty much your standard good hostel. Not bad or plain, and not spectacular. Just good all around. The city center is small so you can walk to everything from here, and you can take the subway a few blocks away to the airport if need be. ...cheap beer on sale there, and a small communal room (that looks like a dining room rather than a lounge), but it's definitely appreciated!

It's a hotel. Tiny rooms but hey...for the price and location, it's perfect. Just a place to sleep. I'd definitely stay here again. It's in walking distance of the Eiffel Tower! No major problems here....besides having my AND my friend (2) iPods get zapped in the plug outlets. Not sure why it fried our iPods when I've used/charged my iPod in over 20 countries with the same charger, etc. Anyway, I would stay here again for the bed, not the outlets. ha ha

Party place. Seems like there are 100s of rooms here, long hallways, multiple floors. Free computer/internet use, free breakfast. It's far from the central train station but it is in walking distance of the city center and everything you want to see there. Their free beer sampler and cheap beer on tap is quite nice. There's a bar and restaurant attached.

This is place is really special. The only downside is that it's not really close to anything. You'll have to walk a while to get into the main part of town so once you're out for the day, just stay out. It is in walking distance of the main part though, just not that convenient. The breakfast is weak too, just some help-yourself style to bread and various spreads, and coffee. The staff is fantastic though. So friendly and personable. And the place is decorated so neat! A must-stay, if even once.

One of those hostels that feel sterile and ultra organized. But this can be good because it's clean and not a party place, if that's what appeals to you. The outside architecture is trippy and but the inside is awkward. In any case, they staff was friendly enough and the breakfast rocked. Nice clean room but the shower button you had to hit every 10 seconds to keep the water running (would be nice if they let it at least run for one minute). great location though. i'd recommend it.

This is a killer beach spot location. It's a little bit of a walk to get to and there's not a whole lot happening in the area, but the beach is literally across the street from this place and the hostel has organized events all the time. there were live bands and what was equivalent to a keg party the night we stayed there.

If you're traveling with others, get your own room, otherwise "dorm bed" means you're sleeping on the rooftop with blankets. Expect to wake up when the sun does. The have a great pool and outdoor seating where you can order and eat food. Nice scenery. The beach is just across the street. It's far from Aqaba city but that's also a good thing. This is a remote beach spot that's nice for that reason. Don't pay more than 5 Dinar for a taxi from Aqaba city center to here or 5 Dinar to get back.

i did a tapas tour and a pub crawl with these guys. it\'s great when a hostel actually cares enough to have evening event options for single travelers. during the day, we can all find stuff to do, but at night (especially if you\'re a single woman) it\'s best to have some organized event to join. Besides that, their security system was the best I\'ve seen. you wear a watch that has a touch-chip system to open the hostel and bedroom doors and lockers. their bfast wasn\'t great but it\'s something

the kitchen in this place is the highlight. very large with plenty of burners and sinks and storage space and even labels to mark your items. i wish all hostels had kitchens like this! however, they did have a lack-of-hot-water problem while i was there for 3 days. not once was i able to take a shower that wasn\'t freezing! that sucked. the bfast is free but quite boring: coffee, juice, cereal, bread. would be nice if they had cheese or nutella or yogurt or fruit. they do, but you have to buy \'em

the place has a good staff, very friendly. it\'s also fairly clean for a hostel. however, overall i didn\'t like it. the prices for things were outrageous for a hostel. e.g., earplugs were like 1.5 euro, laundry was 4.5 euro, drinks at bar were over 3 euro. this is a hostel folks, we\'re BUDGET travellers! also, it felt very sterile. no character. felt like the place was owned and run by business man in suits rather than the communal/family feel of most hostels. t-shirt vending machines? really?!

a weird place for hostel but it works. there are many people \"living\" there for months which is strange, not just travellers. the location is bit far from tourist places but if u like to walk it\'s not that bad (30 min casual pace or 20 mins walking fast). the 3T/3B tram which takes you all around central helsinki is only a couple of blocks way. if you get the 1-day tourist pass for 6.80 euros than it\'s good for 24 hours after you validate it. its also good for the ferry to fortress island.

nice communal space right when you walk in. close to MRT. bathroom was on different floor than my bed and having to deal with sleepers or being barefoot when going for the shower wasn\'t preferable, but overall this is a nice place. it\'s a bit away from the main area of tokyo but has it\'s own character and worth exploring this area too.
