Wake Up! Sydney Central

Conveniently located right beside the central train and bus stations. High security, you need the keycard to get inside, use the lift, enter your room and the bathroom- excessive but definitely secure. The double room was great.

Great facilities (esp the bathrooms) - clean and spacious. Only negative is that luggage storage is expensive, and inconveniently placed on the roof so you need multiple door-keys, the lift and a raincoat to get to it.

Great but noisy location (Euston Rd, 5 mins from Kings Cross tube), with friendly staff and reasonable common area. Only negatives are unreliable hot water, and you have to pay for luggage storage. But the lift works!

Owner Comment (Hide)
Thanks for the feedback Zoe. Luuggage storage in London is usually very expensive, so our £2 and £3 charges are very competitive when compared with other providers in Kings Cross. Sorry to hear the hot water was unreliable - it has been a recurring issue due to construction works next door, and we are working to get on top of it. Hope to meet you again here soon:)

Great location - 5 minutes from Paddington station and Hyde Park on a pretty street. Security is good, if not excessive (as well as keycard entry to rooms, you have to show the guard ID every time you enter, which is a bit annoying honestly). Staff and other guests were friendly. Lift worked, but the WiFi didn't (even though I paid for it). Good beds but don't expect a soft mattress. Good common area and breakfast, which is included. Need fans in the rooms- can get very close in hot weather.

Great location (very central) and spacious rooms, though the hostel is a bit of a maze of staircases. Good food provided in the bar, and nearby. The staff were really helpful with organising actvities. Would stay again.

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel

Great atmosphere; very friendly, welcoming and upbeat. Also, excellent location- close to train station and in centre of city with plenty to do close-by. Clean rooms with stable beds and lift access (important for heavy suitcases!); food, bar and common seating area available, though shared kitchen is small (though at least there was one; some hostels I've stayed in haven't had one). Definitely recommended!

Worst hostel I've been in, though to be fair its not so bad compared to reviews of other Parisian hostels. Room was small but there was room to move so ok there, though the shower had a hole and scungy tiles, and there were only 3 working toilets between 2 floors. No lift and cramped staircase. Tiny kitchen- no space to make or store your own food. Apathetic staff, and other guests were polite but antisocial. Next time I will pay for a hotel. Tip: buy breakfast from boulangerie down the road.
