Paraty Beach Hostel

Paraty, Brazil

This hostel was the last one that my friend and I stayed in after two months of backpacking and could not have chosen a better one. Gus, the owner, was full of suggestions on where to go and what to do and the hostel is at a great loaction to easily get to the center of town or hang out on the beach. The breakfast is very good as is the dinner if you opt in for it. Gus makes up a mean drink so don't miss them! Renting kayaks and taking them to the mud beach close by is a must!

Pousada D' Pillel

Ilha Grande, Brazil

The breakfast here was the best of all hostels of the four countries we visited over two months! Eggs, cakes, ham, cheese, bread, arroz con leche, fruit galore, and the list continues. The rooms are nice and get cleaned everyday. When booking for 2 make sure that it doesn't put you in a three person room, as the two of you must pay the whole amount even though you reserved 2 spaces. Overall great place, some really nice people work here as does one creepy one, but great experience overall!

Books Hostel

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

At first the owner Felipe threw me off a bit with his straight forwardness, but you quickly learn that he is one of the most helpful and cool guys in all of Rio. He is full of suggestions as is his staff. He creates an awesome atmosphere that makes it very hard to say no to partying every night you are there. If you are looking to give your liver a break, don't stay here! :) It is a good location for catching buses to places (beaches&landmarks) and to go out in Lapa. Great experience overall!
