Brilliant staff! We were staying over Christmas and worried we'd be lonely, but the staff welcomed us into their little group straight away. They're all super lovely. Great place to party. You'll find someone in the common area to have a drink and a chat with. Super close to Sauchiehall & Bath St where you'll find heaps of clubs, bars and places to eat. There aren't a lot of power points in the room, but you can charge in the kitchen. If you don't like to party then maybe stay elsewhere!
Rooms in Hong Kong are tiny. This is standard though. Was like a treasure hunt trying to find the place with notes left on pin boards directing us to different areas with codes listed on them. Anyone could've taken it and gotten in. We had to wait until 11pm for someone to collect our money. We stayed up til 1:30am. No one came. Had to find "The Helper" the next day to give it to her. Found our door left unlocked. No explanation. Heaters always ridiculously hot. Strange place. Not a hostel feel.
This used to be my favourite hostel, hands down. It was so much fun when I was here 18 months ago. The staff were amazing. The bar area was great for making new friends. This time was a different story. Nana wasn't there. The girl behind the bar was so slow!! She was new, but shouldn't have been by herself. There was no party atmosphere & everyone seemed to be in their own little groups. We ended up going to Shamrock for a good time, highly recommend this Irish bar instead if you want some fun!
Good: Lockers are decent size. Key card security. Power point & lamps next to bed. Free coffee AND beer. Good location for Flower & Bird market. Rooftop terrace is nice. Bad: Locker numbers don't match beds. Very inconvenient when you need to get something out from under someone else's bed when they're sleeping. Staff weren't very knowledgeable when we asked for advice. If you want to go out to bars and Kundu then Cloudland is a much better location.
It took us so long to find this place due to the name change. We were walking for an hour and everyone we asked had no idea what we were talking about. Once we found the place though it was lovely. WiFi sometimes a bit slow, but still usable in the dorm rooms. Staff so helpful with advice on Tiger Leaping Gorge and booking a bus to get us there straight from the hostel door! Food is okay. Reasonably priced. I'd rather go for a walk and eat somewhere else though.
Walked in to find people dancing and having a good time. They immediately invited us to join them. Beds were super comfortable. Power point and lamp next to beds. Lockers were decent size. WiFi worked on all floors and in the dorm rooms. Yangshuo is such a beautiful city. I'd definitely come back.
