We had a twin room and we were not pleased with it. Ofcourse we expect bugs in Asia, but we haven't had any problems in our 5 week Asia trip except at this place! The ceiling was very nasty with dead bugs spread out on the ceiling, and every now and then one falling off the ceiling on the bed. Also, it is very far away from old Sukhothai (you have to take a tuk-tuk to get there) and a 10-minute bike ride to the centre of New Sukhothai. Good thing that you can rent bikes for free at the 'resort'.
I fell in love with the room immediately, a pink (double) room! Also the ensuite bathroom was lovely, made me feel like I was at the beach. The owner and staff are very friendly and always willing to help you with further travel plans or tours in and around Chiang Mai. The only negative remark is the location, it is a little bit difficult to find and not as close to the part in Chiang Mai where everything-happens than other hostels, but everything is still in walking distance.
The location is great, 10 minute walk to Khao San (backpacker area) so you can still have a good night rest ;) The staff is very friendly, always smiling, happy to give you advice when you ask for it. To our surprise, breakfast was included which was lovely! (fresh fruit/coffee/tea/toast/cereals) And they also offer a few tours and airport transfer if you need it. Everything was clean, shower was comfortable and the room was also great.
The best asset is the location. It's right in the middle of Chinatown, with Pasar Seni (the metro station) a 5-minute walk away, as well as the central market with lots of souvernirs. We had a twin room which was fine, it was clean, the airco worked, but no window. The shower / toilet room is quite small but clean. There was not really a breakfast or a tour desk to help you with your futher travel plans. Also, when I returned after a month, they still had the same security code at the door.
