Glaros Hotel

Excellent! The room was spacious, cleaned every day and A/C worked fantastically. The beach is right across the street and being in the port means you miss the noise of the village. It's a family run hotel and Gail and her son Nico are two of the nicest people you will ever meet. A five minute walk from some amazing restaurants or you can have freshly squeezed orange juice while you lay on the beach! The best hotel of our trip, we did not want to leave. If you visit Ios you need to stay here.

Impossible and costly to find by taxi, take bus instead. Very good location, very close to Acropolis and main streets. Staff were very helpful and room was clean with good A/C. Bathrooms could have been better and ran out of toilet paper often. Breakfast is also pretty minimal and you are better off going to a bakery. There is a fantastic transfer to the Piraeus port every morning for 5 euro each.

Hotel San Tomaso

Location was great and very close to metro. Wifi is okay, but pretty intermittent. Whilst the room was clean, it was also pretty old and there was no A/C. Bathroom was good, but very small. There are free maps at the counter which were helpful, but staff didn't really know where things were. Good and cheap restaurants very near the hostel and the lifts were a welcome surprise so we didn't have to carry our bags up five flights of stairs.

If you are driving around Lake Garda this is the best place to stay. Estela was amazing and recommended some wonderful restaurants. The room and bathroom were clean and made you feel right at home. The breakfast was also fantastic with lots of options. Wifi comes and goes a bit, but you won't need it much. The balcony was also amazing and the only improvement would be the addition of some A/C.

Very difficult to find. Instructions on how to get there do not work. For what we paid, room was very average, reasonably clean, but nothing special. Staff were not helpful at all and 'free maps' do not exist. The "free wifi" can only be accessed in the reception area of the hotel and not in rooms. Initially we had a shared bathroom but switched to en suite when we saw the state of them. I would also suggest a room with A/C as our first room was like a sauna before we changed.

Old Town Hostel Split

Split, Croatia
86%

It was slightly difficult to find the hostel to begin with as there is not much signage and the streets are all pretty similar, however we had a wonderful view from our window and it was very close to the centre of the Old Town. The room was great, very clean and has been recently renovated. The A/C was a welcome addition as it was very hot when we were in Split and it worked well throughout our stay. There is also free wifi and an internet service which works well. Staff are also fantastic.

Firstly, the location was fantastic. It was right in the centre of the Old Town and was a five minute walk to all of the main sites in Dubrovnik. Ana was very welcoming and showed us the best and cheapest restaurants were located. We had access to our own kitchen and the bathroom facilities were only shared with one other couple. It was also very cool in the hostel and great value for money. We would highly recommend this hostel if you are visiting Dubrovnik.
