It was um...interesting. After being shown around the house, including how to flush the toilet and turn the tap both on and off, we were shown to a very basic room. The shared bathroom was not clean and full of ants and mosquitoes. The members of staff who dealt with us was a tad eccentric and made us feel like another problem for him rather than paying guests. Unfortunately the house backs on to a school which woke us up very early and was surprisingly loud.

Hard beds, we were asked to move rooms twice, the bathrooms had a strong stench and the showers were only acceptable if you don't mind showering on the toilet. However the staff were lovely and very attentive. It seems that since opening a sister hostel the owner has let Golden Time slip.

Great hostel, the staff are very friendly and the rooms were fine. In a great area and a great introduction when you arrive! Only minor minus, we were above the kitchen so we were sometimes woken up very very early (530) by the cooks arriving, but they intend no malicious. Definitely stay here
