Loved this place. Was a beautiful old-style Japanese house with sliding panels and all. The staff were all super nice, friendly and adorable sweet. All spoke minimal to very workable english, and one spoke a bit of french, while another spoke mandarin. They are always cleaning, and keep the place super clean. For 300Y, you can get a yummy and filling breakfast made by the staff. They were very helpful and always did their best to answer any questions. Would definitely stay there again!
Although there were 3-4 staff members, only 1 was semi-helpful; still, he didn't know much about how to go to even famous areas... The common room and bedroom were clean, but the washroom did not seem to have been cleaned in a while; there was mold growing along the sink's corking, and along the wall and the floor. There were 2 washrooms on our floor, and one of the 2 had a huge mold patch under the sink. Clutter around the sink (toothbrushes) was gross and the washroom+shower was very tight.
The staff was great: super helpful, polite and nice. The bedroom itself was really nice as well, with a door onto a terrasse; however, in the washroom were the beginnings of a mold takeover. If nothing is done, in a few years, the whole washroom will need to be redone because mold was starting to grow everywhere: ceiling, sink corking, between floor and wall, and even on the door. If you can stand a bit of mold, then it's a great place: big dining area and a chill bar/dining/band area.
