Matchbox The Concept Hostel

Very good capsule style hostel. Only stayed for 1 night but enjoyed chatting with the friendly staff. They helped me top-up my SIM and card and gave me some great local food recommendations. Atmosphere to meet other travelers seemed a bit limited but as I was only staying 1 night I wasn't concerned. I would definitely stay here again if looking for a hostel in Singapore.

Very good hostel. The staff is amazing and friendly and will help with anything you need. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Lounge is good to meet people and has kitchen facilities that you can use. Location is good for some tourist activities but having stayed in Tokyo several times Asakusa is not my favorite area(but access to the train station is very easy). Also, since my room was on the first floor it was rather loud at night since I was near the elevator and lounge but not too bad.

Not very close to the train station but an overall better location than the other Vertigo hostel. Very clean and nice big kitchen/lounge area for use. Also good wifi. I enjoyed my stay here.

No complaints at all with this hostel. Very good location, good wifi, nice staff, modern and clean. Definitely recommend staying here when in Avignon.

A bit expensive but a very nice hostel. Location is good because proximity to train station/metro but other than that the area is not nice (but easy walk to other good areas). Wifi was inconsistent and didn't work in my room. Very helpful and friendly staff. Big and clean rooms.

The Yellow

Very helpful and friendly staff. Fun bar and basement that turns into nightclub after midnight. If you are traveling alone or looking to meet other travelers this is the place to stay with a bar/restaurant with great atmosphere. Rooms/beds are nothing special but are clean and good enough just to sleep for a couple nights. Wifi was pretty good and worked in the bedrooms. Easy walk to Termini station.

Ostello Corniglia

Cinque Terre, Italy
91%

Perfect place to stay in Cinque Terre and specifically Corniglia. Centrally located in the town. Only downside to staying in Corniglia is the very steep and long staircase you must ascend to reach the town. During daytime hours there is a shuttle that will take you to the top. Very clean hostel, good wifi and helpful staff.

Generator Venice

Very nice and modern hostel as all Generator locations are. Enjoyed my stay here with the exception of 2 things. First, the hostel should make it clear that a water bus is needed to go anywhere in Venice from the hostel location. Be sure to purchase a water bus pass for the duration of your stay upon arriving to Venice. Second, there seemed not to be any age limit at the hostel and there were too many young children running around.

Big hostel but very nice facilities. Great rooftop deck and pool area. Was disappointed that wifi did not work in my room. Big and clean room. Also, disappointed not many people were in the bar one night, hostel should organize more activities in order for guests to interact.

Nice place to stay in Rome. Near Termini station. Nice rooftop. Bunk beds are a bit weird and top bunk have no railing. Good bar but lacked a bit of atmosphere. Hostel should try to organize some more activities for guests to interact. Also, lockers in the room are too small.

Really nice, modern and clean hostel. All facilities are good and wifi works almost perfect. Close to 2 metro stops so it's easy to get around.

Hostal Antares

Great location and great value for getting a private room. However, the building is very old and the furniture and rooms seems old as well. Surprisingly the bed was extremely comfortable though. Wifi was a bit hit or miss but was good when it stayed working. Also, there is no common room or lounge so don't plan to meet many travelers while staying here. This place is more ideal if you already have somebody you are traveling with and want a private room for cheap in a good location.

Hostal Azahar Cordoba

Stayed in a private room at this hostel and it was very great value for the money. It's a great location in the center on the city. The only negative thing to say is that since it is such a central location in the city it was very noisy early in the morning due to traffic. I would still definitely recommend staying here.

HostelOne Sevilla Alameda

Only stayed here 1 night and didn't spend much time in the hostel but it mostly seemed good. The room was a bit small and hot but was good enough. Also, it seemed like there was only 1 bathroom/shower on the entire 2nd floor but I could have been missing something. Also, about a 10-15 minute walk from city center.

Kabul Backpackers Hostel

If you are only looking to party and meet other backpackers then this is a great hostel for you. Other than that, the facilities are not very good. The room was small, hot and there were no outlets to charge. You have to charge in the lounge or leave it at reception. Also, because of this being a party hostel, don't expect to get a goods night sleep as people will be making noise at all times of the night. This could be a good hostel as long as you understand the atmosphere here.

This is a university dorm style hostel. I stayed here during La Tomatina and it was very good price for what I needed. Other hostels near city center were much more expensive and/or sold out. It is not great location but the city is easy accessible by bus, tram or taxi. It is within walking distance of a nice beach. It is not typical hostel but ended up being nice to share a private room for just my friend and I.

Home Lisbon Hostel

This is the best hostel I have stayed in during 3 months of traveling Europe. No need to look anywhere else. Rooms are clean with beds with privacy curtains and power outlets. Wifi works mostly everywhere. Lounge with tons of free movies to watch. Friendly staff, free laundry. Plus, every night the hostel Mom cooks an amazing 3 course dinner with sangria or beer for 10 euro. So good!

Hostel Van Gogh

Very nice hostel in a really nice area of Amsterdam. It is a bit outside of city center and red light area but will be a much more comfortable stay. Easy walk or tram ride into city center. Also good location for uptown attractions. Good wifi and clean rooms/bathrooms. Definitely recommend for a more relaxing atmosphere.

Hostel the Globe Center

If you're looking to stay near city center/red light district and just want a place to sleep then this hostel is perfect. However, if you are looking to meet other travelers and might want to spend some time in the hostel then I might look elsewhere. There is public bar downstairs. The bartender refused to fill my water bottle. Also, my experience at this hostel was somewhat ruined by the roommates I had. That can happen anywhere but the location of this hostel probably was one of the reasons

Hostel Grand Place

Brussels, Belgium

This hostel seems to be new and still under construction. You have to check-in at their other location about 15 minute walk away. As long as you know this and get proper directions its no big deal. I think they are building reception at the new location but its not finished yet. Hostel is clean and bathrooms are nice. It's a bit inconvenient that the kitchen closes at different time and they asked us to leave the lounge to clean as well. However, you can't beat the location.

Hatters at Hilton Chambers

My experience at this hostel was just 2 nights but it seemed like a very good place to stay. Staff was very helpful and organized hostel activities was a great way to meet people. Free toast/coffeee/tea all day and night was nice. Good location near a lots of restaurants/bars and the tram. Only downside was the showers drain in our bathroom was almost clogged and it didnt really seem like they cleaned the bathroom during the 2 days i was there.

Hey, thanks for your comments! We try to keep our guests busy and promote our wonderful city as best as we can :) Unfortunately it is difficult to able to predict when people are in and out of the bathrooms in the en suite rooms so we try to wait until everyone is out of the room!

Euro Hostel Glasgow

Decent place to book if you are really just looking for a place to sleep. Very big hostel with little atmosphere or chance to meet other travelers aside from who might be in your room. Assigned beds were all mixed up when I checked in and there was no clean bed for me. Took a couple hours to get the situation sorted out but the manager was helpful. Also, online reservation system was down at check-in time so nobody could check-in for about a half hour.

High Street Hostel

Edinburgh, Scotland

Great location and good atmosphere. Easy to meet people and even the staff are fun to hang out with. Most annoying things were no power outlets in bedrooms and internet only works in the small lounge near check-in. The staff will however charge your items behind the desk while you are away if you need it. Power outlets are also available in the hallways and lounge. Staff is very helpful with details about the city and things to do.

Stayed here for 1 night. It was my second time staying here. Hostel is very good for the price. Its clean and internet works well. 6 bed mixed dorm was a bit small but it was still good enough just to sleep.

Kinlay Eyre Square Hostel

Kinlay hostel is everything you want from a great hostel. Friendly atmosphere makes it very easy to meet people. They also have free bottled water, free soap for the showers and internet works in the bedrooms. Really nothing negative at all to say, definitely stay here if you are in Galway.

Everything about this hostel was great except it is very huge and a little harder to meet people than smaller and more intimate hostels.

Private curtains on the beds and private bathrooms are definitely a plus. Close enough to a tube station and bus stops but area didn't have many great options. Internet didn't reach my room and only worked well sometimes in the lounges. Pretty cheap food but not very good.

Need to get some more ventilation in the chill out room. Need to improve the wifi.

Owner Comment (Hide)
Hey there, Thanks for your feedback. It helps us improve for future guests. We are aware that the chill out room does get a bit warm, esp when there are lots of people down there. Over the next few weeks we are getting new venting installed. Its been a slow process with all this bad weather. As for the WiFi, we are really sorry that the connection was not so good during your stay. Usually it is quite good and reliable. we will look into this. Cheers, The St Christopher's team.
