Sax Hostel

Ljubljana, Slovenia

No curtains in the room, which in summer is a problem. No catering facilities beyond a shared kettle (no fridge!). Poor WiFi - had to be by the door for a decent connection. Nice position in Ljubljana - quiet area, but 25 min walk to train station. Pub next door was quietly audible, but low level (occasional gigs can be louder). Hostel was quiet (not a party hostel). Room was a double, but quite small - only really big enough for sleeping in. Free hairdryer and (small) towel was a bonus.

Jazz Hostel & Apartments

Bled, Slovenia

Best hostel ever! 10 min walk to Lake Bled (though 30 mins to train station). Staff were so lovely - very welcoming and helpful. Views of mountains and fields from window. Jazz bar nearby not noisy. Communal kitchen amazing - huge, with all mod cons. Showers good, with separate toilets. Room spacious. Free hairdryer and as many free towels as required. Free slippers too if wanted! Good WiFi. 10% off in local restaurants. €10 for wash & dry a bit pricey, but quick service.

Hostel Temza

Very quiet. Small but well-fitted kitchen. Two very clean shower rooms. Room was very clean and light. Beds very comfy. Free (small) towel supplied and free hairdryer. Staff very helpful - put us in touch with cheap transport to Plitvice Lakes. Good WiFi. Washing and drying 50 Kuna per load, although we had a small amount so were only charged 30 Kuna :-) Good location - 5 mins walk to station, 10 mins walk into centre. Key to building, key to hostel and key to room, so very secure.

Home Made Hostel

Budapest, Hungary

Staff very welcoming - helped us find closest food shops and cheap cafes. Double room was nice, but right next to kitchen thus noisy. Free towels and hairdryer supplied. Very homey, cosy feeling to hostel. Well-stocked kitchen, with all amenities. €7 for wash and dry clothing. Can buy tickets to Baths at hostel, to dodge the queues. Hungarian cooking class every 2nd Tues of month. Bar and city tours. Very good hostel for meeting people; not a good hostel if you want an early night.

Amazing double room! Had own en-suite (excellent shower), small kitchenette with fridge and cooker, very spacious room including a sofa. However bed was two singles pushed together. Free hairdryer and towels. Staff helpful and efficient. 5 mins walk to train station, so great for connections. 20 min walk to town, but good general food shop straight across road from hostel. Very quiet hostel; not for partying. Double glazing made room peaceful. Breakfast (pay extra) was average.

Wroclaw, Poland

In a quiet area of Wroclaw, so slept very well (yay for double glazing!). Bit of a walk to the town centre, but overall a good experience. Loved the free towels and included breakfast - very handy when setting off early the next day. Good ensuite facilities.

A very friendly, helpful hostel. Good location with respect to the city. Was a bit noisy at night as some guests did not respect the "quiet after 2200" rule. Glad to have free towels and wifi - very handy. Unfortunately, the toilet seat broke during our stay and wasn't fixed very promptly. Other than that, very good hostel, with good room.

Tatamka Hostel

Warsaw, Poland
63%

Glad to have free towels and an ensuite. Room was quite basic but had everything we needed. Security was not great; easy to walk in and out of the hostel, and even up to the rooms. Staff were efficient but not overly friendly. Position was good, with respect to main centre of Warsaw, but a 20 minute walk from the central train station. Cleanliness was good in the rooms, but not so downstairs in the common areas.

Wroclaw, Poland

Really loved this hostel! The staff were great, really friendly and very helpful. The place was very clean, and security was very good. The hostel is very close to the main square of Wroclaw, so very easy to get to attractions. The atmosphere was good, and the hostel was quiet at night with respect to guests (not so with traffic, depending on which was your room faced). Also, breakfast was included, which was an unexpected bonus! v Very good value for money and would def. stay here again!
