Staff are great, the place is warm, friendly, free wifi.. Cheap food and drinks in the cafe.. The room was alright but the beds are too small.. They are like kids sized bunk beds for adults. And if your a taller person, then forget a good nights sleep as the beds are too small and they have leg boards to so no feet over the end.. I find a few YHA have the same problem with beds for people over 185 cms..oh and the heater in the room was way to loud, you might wanna turn it on and have a listen
I like this hostel, I've stayed a few times, the area is great, it's not a party hostel, staff are friendly, wifi works as wifi does. But the beds suck.. Like they really suck and they have had these for at least 8 years now and guys, it's time for an upgrade.

The staff in this place are great.. Very friendly and nice and helpful.. I think like a lot hostels in Edinburgh it has a very down under feel to it.. I have stayed here on and off for 10 years now and I think the place has what people need.. The beds I think are the same ones from when I first stayed here. The wifi works, the kitchen works, the bathrooms work, the lounge works and its got a great set of stairs.. Go Movember!!
This place is pretty cool... The beds for a taller person is great as they have no leg boards.. The staff are friendly and helpful. You walk outside and there is the castle, it's got all your stuff you need and if you want to meet people or do your own thing I think it caters for both.
This place has got everything you need..I stayed 3nights and there was a young lady that worked on the reception. I'm not sure what your name is, but you were awesome and I want to say thank you for your help, you were the best bit about the hostel.. It's too expensive for a dorm though. £40 a night?.. Nah that's too much.. And it's all white inside.. Please add colour.. This place is great though.. Comfy beds, wifi that works well, great staff.
Yeah... This place is alright. Wifi don't really work in the rooms. I don't get why hostels don't just include linen in the price. The Down stairs area is well nice and you pretty much get what you paid for in the 18 bed dorm. The staff are very helpful.
As far as hostels go, this is a great place to stay. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the place has great atmosphere and every thing you need. Wifi that works, kitchen, sitting room, t.v. Room, dinning room, buffet breakfast at an extra cost. Beautiful parks and lakes to walk around. Train station is only 20 minutes away and the ferry terminals a good 45 minute walk.. Would stay here again for sure.
I said the staff was poor because there is none at the hostel, the staff at the hotel Santa Claus are very nice.. People book through hostel world all the time, u might want to put a note that although you are staying here, you have to check in somewhere else.. The phone in 306 don't work.. The little kebab shop just down the street is nice.. And the wifi only works in the lobby.. Too expensive for a dorm room..
It's very white inside as in the walls and what not.. Reception doesn't open until 10 and when you need a staff member, they are either all there or there is no one there.. But they are very nice and friendly and very helpful when around.. It was very quiet when I stayed, so maybe when there is more people there would be more atmosphere.. Just need to add some colour.. Would stay again..
Just beds to small for tall people.. But other than that it is fine.. Right near to the train station and the the royal mile just up the street..
Just the beds for taller people suck.. Where the leg boards are, take the panels out and let the feet free.. I have stayed 6 times over the last 10 years and the staff they have had at each time are great.. Very friendly and helpful.. Great location.. The showers are a bit hit and miss though..
Top Beds are too small for people over 6ft tall.. Cut the leg boards out and let the feet hang over.. More comfortable than being cramped up all night..
I was meant to stay 2 nights but only the one... for me the bed was to small and i have back problems... this is not the hostel problem thought.. so i moved some where else for the 2nd night.. great location, the staff member i talked to was nice. If they had bigger beds then maybe i would stay again...
The showers have to be changed.. They are two dangerous. You step down from that and you fall and you may break something.. And swinging doors need to be fixed.. But other than that, it was a nice place. The lady that was on reception and breakfast buffet was great. Very nice. Very helpful..
um, i showed up at 9.30 and they said leave yor bags and come back at 11.30 and your room shoulfd be ready, so i came back at 1pm and then sent me away and said come back at 2.30pm. so i came back at 3 and again they sen me away, got my room by 4.30pm.. was a bit hard to tell who worked at the Hostel as well. the area is alright, just down the road from the harbour. the room is small, but i get that for what your paying. there was a contant drip onto the air con from outside as well.
The place was great. the staff where friendly and the room was good. the only problem and i wish more hostels in general would do this is take the board of the bottom of the bunk bed so taller people can let there legs hangover and not so squashed. but 9 out of 10 and i would stay again.
I have stayed in over 100 hostels in the last sort of few years and this one goes into my top five easy. the staff where great, all big smiles, all very helpful. when i came to the hostel to check in, it was early and i was sick, the young lady on the reception let me check in and got my room ready and this was about 3 hours before actual check in. i don't know your name, but thank you so much and also to the young lady on reception in the afternoon on the 14th, very helpful. thank you both. 10
Not for me.
The hostel was in a great spot for peopel who like to get out and walk to see a city or town, its very close to the train staion, in a secure building and when i stayed it was cheap. less than 10 euros for 2 nights. not bad. The dude that works there was a great help with everything and i think he knows a few laugages, (i cannot spell) i put average for cleanliness because of smoking inside, but other than that, 8 out of 10.
Bratislava itself was kinda boring due to the castle and museum being closed, but the hostel was great. great staff, especially Martin with the long hair and Goldie the Barmaid. don't play them in fuseball, they are very good. The bar down stairs is a great way to meet people. the Laundry and internet where free and the beds where big and comfy. i give it a 9.5 out of 10.
The hostel was quiet, there was not lot of people around, the staff where fine, the only problem i had was there was no hot water or heating on the first night and then it finally came on about 3 in the morning, i had my own room in a five bed dorm, the beds where great, no bunks. everything was very close and in all it was alright. 7 out of 10
Nice place. the staff member i met was very helpful. i wasn't sure who was staff and who was staying there as they all knew each other. The young lady that checked me in was cool and the place is very quiet and the internet was fee. the beds for me was too small and the rooms could do with curtains for the windows. but other than that. i liked the place and would stay again. 9.0 out of 10
The staff where awesome, the location and right next to the station is a great spot. very very central to everything. the only thing that sucks was the rooms are small and the beds are too small for taller people, but most hostel's are like this. Oh and get better pillows. But in all. 9.5 out of 10.
Get better showers, Fix your doors so they don't slam shut, Get bigger beds.
