Friendly and funny staff, quiet location, clean bathrooms (which is important), supermarket within waking distance. Quiz night was heaps of fun!

Staff at the reception is VERY noisy at night! I understand it's a party hostel, but seriously guys, screaming into your radio, singing and slamming doors just outside so called quiet guest rooms (private double rooms at the ground floor) at 3 am ?!! wth! Also having just one (!) remote for all the aircons is really annoying. We had to ask fro a remote at the reception every freaking time our aircon would reset itself to 18C! And then they would send a special person to do use the remote.

Colonial building. Breakfast (fruits and toast) till 12:00 which is cool for those waking up late. Location is excellent with all sightseeing and dining options within walking distance. To get from the airport it's better to take a taxi. They are cheap (negotiate the price in advance). Don't take a bus as the hotel suggests on their webpage. Bus is extremely slow, stopping every couple of minutes, crowded and it gets stuck in the traffic so 1h ride turns into 2,5h at best!

Quite worn out hostel compared with other japanese hostels we've been to. However spotless clean bathrooms as everywhere in Japan. Staff is great. Countless restaurants nearby.

Shower is only n the first floor, so you have to take an elevetor. That is the only minus of this hostel, everything else is exellent and spotlessly clean. Also they offer brekfast with delisious buns and croissants.

The only drawback is that the shower is only at the first floor, behind the reception. So if you live at the 4th floor as we did you have to take an elevator.

Very, VERY small double rooms (tatami type double room). And by small I mean the size of a wardrobe. But then that's Japan.

The place is the best we have been in China. Clean, secure, friendly English speaking staff. WiFi everywhere, not just in the lobby like in other places we've been. There is laundry on the 3rd floor. The lobby is great and the bar too. Double room is spacious and clean. The only weird thing is that is has a glass door in the bathroom. So basically the second person can see you on the toilet! WTH is that? But if you are not concerned abt your privacy in the bathroom - double room is perfect.

Han Tang House

Awesome rooms (we lived in a double room). Fells like a 3 star hotel, rather then a hostel. The staff speaks English. The bar serves western food. Only minus is that noise isolation is very poor, so you can hear everything that's going on at your neighbors room, every sneeze, every movement as if ppl were in your room! However it is not a problem, when you come back from an intensive sightseeing day and just drop dead on your comfortable bed.

The hostel must takecare of cleaniness. Bathrooms are dirty and towels are stinky. Some towels are so worn out that there are holes in them! The only good thing abt this hostel is it's location.
