Hostel Uppelink

Gent, Belgium

Uppelink is a new hostel. The location is amazing and the rooms are awesome. Very sturdy beds and very good linens. Good breakfast. The atmosphere was a bit lacking when i was there. Common room is a big bar on first floor but nobody really goes there. It's too bad they dont have a kitchen or at least a fridge and micro wave. I would not hesitate to recconendvpeople to come here. It is a beautiful city.

Good location in the old partof Lille, walking distance to all attractions. The owner is really friendly. Felt like home away from home!

St Christopher's at The Winston

The St-Christopher hostel in Amsterdam was a very pleasant surprise! I tend to prefer smaller hostels and i booked the St Chris because my cousin was staying there and i was meeting up with her last minute. The female dorm consists of 2 rooms with 4 beds each, connected by a hallway with shared toilet and shower. They are not bunk beds, they are actual single beds. The rooms are equiped with hair dryers and hair straightners. There are small school sized lockers.

This hostel is in a very good location. Huge hostel. I found it to be very generic and to lack character but it's a safe clean place so not a bad choice.

Derry City Independent Hostel

This place is everything a hostel should be. It is friendly, welcoming and feels like home. The size is perfect. Big enough that there are always other travellers to meet and small enough that everybody bonds real quickly. Veautiful garden to hang out when it is nice out. 2 minute walk to city walls and the pubs. Perfect location. The staff is amazing. Owner Steven and his sidekick Tintin are well worth meeting and having a pint with. I've already decided, i'm going back!
