Was an ideal spot to stay while exploring the falls. Pretty relaxed atmosphere and a pool for when it gets really hot. Our room was a decent size and pretty clean. Good little bakery/cafe just down the road. Nothing to fault really
After moving from Hostel Suites Obelisco just down the road, we arrived at The Ritz hoping for a few more comforts in the cold weather. We were greeted with a free beverage, given a free upgrade to a superior double room (from a basic) and were generally pleased with the staff, the hostel facilities and the central heating. The room was a great size with two double beds for the two of us, great shower and bath, a balcony overlooking the main avenue and WiFi working in the room.
Pros: Great location, helpful staff, good free city tour Cons: Room was freezing cold with no heating (had to wear a jacket in the room because so cold), paper thin walls which we noticed due to very noisy neighbours, one bathroom to 8 people which was often dirty and ran out of hot water on several occasions, Wifi only in common areas and unreliable
We stayed before and after our trip to Machu Picchu and it was quite comfortable and ideally located to the main square of Cusco. The room was cozy, the bathroom was a little small and the smell of the sewage gets a little strong at night, but if you are only staying to catch an early bus/train to Machu Picchu it's fine. It is at least a 10 min walk down to the bus/train station in the morning. The woman on reception was very friendly and helpful.
We stayed in a standard double room the first night and then upgraded to a superior room. The first was in the back garden and the second was upstairs with the only real difference being the addition of a TV. The showers were a little tricky being electric but all in all it was a comfortable stay with a big kitchen and a 5 minute walk to the center of Miraflores
A good place to stay if you are catching an early morning flight or arriving late into Lima, we stayed on both the nights of our arrival and departure. The rooms are clean and spacious but can get very cold at night, shower was a little unreliable for hot water but was manageable. There is a supermarket 10 minutes walk away should you need any provisions but the area may be a little dodgy in the evening/night. Denis, the hostel driver is great with lots of tips for a enjoyable stay in Lima!
We stayed in the double room with the balcony and it was like the penthouse suite.. large room, air con (which was a must when 35 degrees!), our own terrace. Be warned, you will be woken up at 5am by the cocks (chickens) just across the river which doesn't really stop all day, so take some ear plugs or drink to excess every night.
Dont stay here. Room was very dirty, the floor was covered in dirt and the shower hadn't been cleaned. The air con was old and outdated making it far too noisy to keep on during the night. Staff we very unhelpful, in the morning we asked the guy on reception to pre-book a cab to the airport for 10am which he agreed to do, however by 10:30am there was no taxi. It took more requests to finally have him call a cab and one soon arrived. No apology, all staff members were extremely rude.
