Trippers Carpe Diem

Yangshuo, China

I highly recommend Trippers Carpe Diem! The staff are really friendly and they can arrange everything for you (kayaking, rock climbing, etc.) It is a bit outside the city (5min by tuk tuk), but they can arrange transport so it's only 5 kuai, so the distance is no problem. The food is also amazing!

Day and Night Hostel

Hong Kong, Hong Kong

The staff at the Day and Night Hostel were great, however, the actual location of the hostel in the Chungking Mansion was pretty sketchy. Recommend this hostel for experienced travelers or people in a group, as the bottom floor (which you have to travel through to get to the hostel) is pretty intimidating for people traveling alone or for women. The salesmen can be really pushy. With that said, the hostel was a great price and the staff was really friendly and the room was great.

Niras Bankoc Cultural Hostel

Bangkok, Thailand

Nice hostel, great location to see the main sites, but pretty far off the sky train. They did make a mistake and put me in a mixed dorm, instead of female. The staff was really friendly and I'm sure they could have fixed it, but I ended up hitting it off with some of the people in my dorm, so it turned out great!

The Mad Monkey

Phnom Penh, Cambodia

The Mad Monkey was the best hostel I stayed at my entire visit. Great atmosphere! It was really easy to meet people and the hostel staff was amazing. In the morning, they helped organize tours to the Killing Fields and S-21, so that I didn't have to hire my own tuk tuk.

Rosy Guest House

Siem Reap, Cambodia

Decent hostel, but don't buy the cheapest rooms. There isn't any AC in the single rooms, which is miserable with Siem Reap temperatures. The staff, however, was decently friendly. Definitely a better hostel for ex-pats and couples, not really big with the back packers. Still, nice place.
