Stayed in a double room with high ceilings, walls not going all the way up. There are 3 rooms that are double in one large area. It is a glorified 6 dorm room you can hear everything that goes on in the other rooms. You do have your own fridge in this area. You are next to the kitchen and the general common outdoor area which is a major problem if people party and are loud which happened during our stay. Walking distance to shops, pub, beach which is a plus for those who do not have a car.

Look no further if you are looking for location, security, good facilities, meeting new people and a good place to stay. This place has been the best place we have stayed at in 8 months of travel. Because of the owner he made our stay welcoming and helped with all information for the area and anything we needed or asked of he took care of with a great attitude. Close to supermarket, metro and bus also makes this an outstanding locatable place. Train direction on internet makes easy to find

Kitchen does not have fridge and very limited cooking utensils. No toaster of jug. Anyone can walk in your room no key to lock the door with and squeaky doors. Shower is a sprinkle. Common room you have to walk through another dorm to get to it and only enough to seat 3 people. We both received bites and rashes, itches while staying here. We were forced to leave a day early due to the increasing bites and rashes situation. Internet very slow. Small lockers. Lighting is limited in the room

check in to explain the rules of the house and shown throughout the apartment. If the place is not to the liking is honest and forthright leave, rather than saying inaccuracies and untruths ....so we're better off everyone!

More notice should be taken of who comes and goes from your establishment. We came into our room to find another bed had been put in there. And someone was sleeping on it!! maybe a staff member but should not happen. Hand wash and something to dry hands with in the toilet. Unacceptable this is not supplied. This is basic hygiene standards. if you provide tea/coffee milk should be supplied with this. Internet was good. Atmosphere was good. Shower could be put on the wall not just hand held

There is not point in us given our comments as this hostel was closing down on Saturday. The hostel management advised us this hostel had only been opened for 2months while they were on leave.

Disappointed when told staff someone had vomited in the toilets and was not cleaned up. Our room advised leaking toilet nothing was done. People allowed to check in after midnight. Hello! Thank you for your comment! We are sorry to hear that you could not enjoy your stay too much. As for the kitchen - indeed some of our utensils got missing in the last couple of weeks, but we already got new ones. Also sorry about our staff, things like you mentioned should not happen and we apologize for that! We hope you will still give MEININGER a chance and visit us (maybe at a different location) again. Best wishes Your MEININGER Salzburg Team

How could you allow someone so drunk that was in a fight down stairs in your bar and be allowed to come up to our dorm at approx.1am and then only to wake everyone up, his alarm went off at 5am he was that drunk he could not turn it off then 15 minutes later he left the room only to urinate outside in the hall. Security!! Also other people are allowed to roam the hallways all night yelling, screaming and been a nuisance. Security! Internet we were not the only ones with problems

Room Number 303 bottom bed as you walk in the door left hand side has bed bugs. We went to the hospital in London as one of us broke our severely with sores. We were advised by the London hospital that they were bed bug bites. Your hostel was the last place we had slept at. Also not allowing access to the kitchen until 9am in the morning is ridiculous. Our stay with you has caused considerable grief due to the bed bug bites we are now dealing with.

Great Atmosphere. Good location. Staff extremely helpful and helped us to enjoy our stay while in the area. Would highly recommend this place especially to anyone travelling alone. Would stay again. The only thing I would mention to management would be better facilities in the shower and bathrooms. A little TLC would make a huge difference. Keep up the good work.

We have travelled for 6 months and have stayed at a large number of hostels and have found this hotel the worst we have stayed at. We have stayed in may dormitories and many different size rooms. People are allowed to come into your room drunk and keep you awake until whenever it suits them. People are allowed to run up and down the hallways keeping you awake also. Reception told us we should have come down and told them!! Security and staff are poor.

Don't say you offer breakfast then all you provide is bread out of a freezer which is out of date (who knows how old it is) and then don't even offer anything to put on the bread. Not enough facilities with toilets. Had to wait over an hour just to go to the toilet. This is unacceptable.

Hi, just to let you know that the bread is taken from the freezer and is fine for use. We have jam and butter in the fridge to put on the toast. I agree at times the bathrooms are very busy and I apologise that you had to wait so long. Paul

I think the hostel needs to be hard on people coming into rooms and drinking. We paid as much money as the other people but we got no sleep! and had to put up with drunken people and drinking in the room. This is very unfair for us. keep reception open. what's with the half hour when you can't get served. would not recommend. People who are in the kitchen should be there to eat not drink all night and put those who want to eat be forced to stand up and eat while they play cards etc.
