We stayed in a double ensuite room, which was a good size and clean. The hostel has a 7 eleven store right next door and a bus stop outside to take you to where you want to go on Phuket. Some staff are excellent and some are less so but overall we were very happy here.

Excellent location and staff but the toilets and showers are pretty poor although for the price of a bed you still receive value for your money. Great for younger travellers but if you're looking for a bit of luxury then look elsewhere.

Very nice hostel in excellent location. Within walking distance of the bund and people's square and if you're happy to walk for 45 minutes plus you can also walk to the French Concession area. The communal showers and toilets are very clean and the dorms are comfortable with enough space. If you go for the cheap double/twin room you may end up with a very small room with no window and this is why it's cheap so don't complain, you're in Shanghai remember!

We loved this hostel. The room was fantastic and the location was perfect. The place had such a homely feel to it. I'd highly recommend staying here. For anyone reading negative comments about the noise in the morning. Yes it's loud but it's not until 7.30am so unless you're planning on long lie ins it shouldn't be a problem. Alternatively just ask for a room on the other side of the hostel.

Nice hostel with a nice bar and great staff. Bathrooms in the 6 bed dorm are a bit manky but nothing that should stop you from staying here for a couple of nights. The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of the centre of xi'an and as long as you're not lazy you can walk to the train station.

WE stayed in a dorm but some of the dorms have a private room within the dorm that houses a bunk bed. My girlfriend and I were able to stay in this bunk bed meaning we basically had a private room for the price of two dorm beds. If you're a couple or just two people then try and get this if you go for a dorm. The hostel was in a fantastic location with a great little tea shop called Miss Spoons at the top of the alley way. You could walk to Tienanmen square from the hostel in 40 mins.

The rooms in the hostel are excellent but the roof top restaurant left a little to be desired in terms of decor. That said, there are great views of the river from up there. The location isn't central but it's close enough to the ghats to walk as long as you don't mind a half hour or so of walking each way. The staff were excellent and overall we were happy with our stay. Varanasi is a busy and loud city so being slightly away from it all can be a positive.

Travellers Inn

From what we could make out there is no ideal place to be in Mumbai unless you spend big bucks. The travellers inn is within walking distance from Victoria Terminus (the main station) and close enough to India gate. We stayed in a double room and it was fine. Clean and comfortable. There isn't a common room or social area here but there are a few nice cafes around. Overall we were happy here and the staff were helpful.
