Dolphins Beach House

Lovely friendly hostel, lots of nice communal spaces to sit and relax with friends, or make new ones! Rooms are a little small and basic, but only 2 rooms share one kitchen/ living room/ bathroom, which works well. Nice atmosphere, would stay again.

A bit far from town but only a 5 min walk to a gorgeous beach. Very friendly staff and a sociable atmosphere.

Byron Beach Resort

A great alternative to some of the noiser hostels in town. The walk into town along the beach is lovely, and there is also the shuttle bus. I stayed in 8 bed female dorm and it was fantastic, with lots of space and storage, an ensuite and even some sofas and a dining table. Beautiful grounds, big clean kitchen, and just 30 seconds to a beautiful stretch of beach. Would definitely stay again.

I had a great three nights here, was in a dorm with a lot of long termers but they were mostly very friendly and I made some great friends. Location is great, right by kings cross station and nightlife and only 20 mins to opera house/ harbour bridge. Very clean and modern compared to some other kings cross hostels. Would stay again?

Nice hostel, simple and clean. On arrival location seemed a bit out of the way, but it turned out to be very accessible to the rest of the city, both on foot and by metro. Very friendly staff especially the girl who greeted us on arrival. Good facilities, clean, and with comfortable beds. The dorms are quite spacious and have lockers to use. Not the most sociable atmosphere, but the communal area was nice with kitchen and sofas/tv etc. Would recommend this hostel as a good base for exploring!

Fantastic place to stay! Very friendly and helpful staff with a very warm welcome. Rooms were simple but everything you need, with a sink in the room and plenty of showers/toilets onboard. Breakfast was plentiful and the location was good for exploring different parts of Amsterdam. Would definitely stay again!

Amsterdam Hostel Janson

We stayed here for one night because it was one of the cheapest we could find in Amsterdam. Having read previous reviews we weren't expecting much, and found it to be a pretty mediocre hostel. Our room was crammed full of beds and not particularly clean, and the bathroom was best avoided, plus there was only one toilet/shower room per floor. The communal room was very small, and breakfast was barely worth it. On the positive side, the guy on reception was very friendly. Wouldn't stay here again.
