Although we were not religious Christians, we stayed at this hostel anyways and we loved it! It was the most comforting place we stayed our entire trip. The location could not get any better with the Red Light District just down the block and tons of tourist spots very close by. The staff was crazy nice, offered us an awesome hot breakfast and coffee each morning, and had excellent security. Alcohol, drugs, and smoking were not allowed, which could be a downer but it allowed us some great sleep.
The hostel employees were very helpful and willing to go the extra mile to help us out with small problems we had. It is located literally around the corner from the train station, but it was about a half an hour on the train to get into all the big tourist stuff in the center of the city. It was definitely do-able, but the train back to the hostel at night, even on the weekends, closed between 11pm and midnight, so plan on taking an expensive taxi ride home if you plan on staying out all night.
It would have been nice to have a kitchen available, but the hostel employees were really great and helpful, the location was within walking distance of awesome things to do as a tourist, and everything was reasonably clean and safe there. I stayed on the upper level of the hostel, which was right underneath the noisy upstairs bar, but with earplugs it wasn't too bad. The week we were there, there were a ton of high school kids staying there, so that took some of the fun out of the atmosphere.
Excellent location - within walking distance of just about everything! The employees were very nice and it was really nice to have a kitchen, free breakfast, and the rooftop terrance was really beautiful and nice to hang out on with all the other people staying at the hostel.
