Las Vegas Hostel, Las Vegas, USA
5.1
18th Dec 2019

The good: beds and pillows are super comfortable. Clean room. The neutral: staff was very “we take no **** from guests that act up.” It’s Vegas. I get it. The bad: stained sheets. Tiny thin blanket. Staff not attending front desk and checking keycards after dark. Lockers out of order. Rooms are run down looking. Whole place desperately needs a renovation. Thing is, I saw the other hostels in Vegas and they looked even worse. Vegas just doesn’t have a good hostel scene. Get a hotel.

Where I'm from Hipster is an insult, but they seem to embrace antique cameras, indie folk, handlebar mustaches, and snobbery. Good free breakfast. Small lockers. Cheap springy mattresses. "Hip" Decor. I would stay there again.

The good: Nice cafe/restaurant. Privacy curtains on the beds. Big lockers. Key card access. Free breakfast. The bad: They nickel and dime you to death for things that would be complementary elsewhere like house computers and storing luggage prior to check in. Check in is too late. Check out is too early. Mold in the showers. Drunk children that can't hold their wine (granted that's not the hostel's fault).”

Flying Pig Beach Hostel, Amsterdam, Netherlands

I've stayed at all 3 flying pigs. I'd stay with them again, but. . . prices are outrageous on Friday and Saturday nights. Lockers are tiny, but there are locks on the dorm room doors. Some clutter on the back porch. You have to like and check in on Facebook to get wi-fi access. Just give us a password like every other hostel. Don't make us advertise for you on social media!

I'd stay there again, but. . . Tiny lockers. while the hostel itself was nice the building it's in is covered in graffiti and smelled of urine. no locks on the room and the front desk buzzes up everyone once they push the button so security needs work. kind of a bit of a walk to get to anything.

Free breakfast and FREE DINNER! How many hostels do that? Great value for the money. I likes that I could buy tour tickets right at the front desk. The only place where they loose points is that fact that shower head mount was broken and some computers were out of order.

View Property Reply

Hi! Thanks for your review, we already fixed our computer and shower of course. It's always good to tell us that's something's broken when you're still at the hostel so problem can be fixed immediately :) Cheers!

Recommended hostel. Perfect location. Wonderful staff who really make friends with guests. Weekly group meals at a great price helped to break the ice. Excellent full service kitchen and common area. Great pric during the low season (but expensive in the high season. I left the day before the price changed). The only downside was that the "locker" was only a tiny drawer with a latch too small for my padlock. Plus no lock on the front door meant ANYONE could have messed with my things.

I'd stay there again. Great location. I made friends with the staff. High quality mattress with clean bedding. Price was right. Well decorated. On the down side there wasn't enough space. We were all stepping on each other. The 1 washing machine was unable to handle all the bedding plus the guests needs. Racks of drying laundry everywhere. I wanted to do laundry during my stay but was unable. No lockers also!

View Property Reply

Thank you for a good review. Sorry about our drying laundry it's already outside so is more space now in Hostel. Also our terrace is opened again after winter so we have more space for hanging out. Wait you again and hope to you'll like the changes!

Recommended hostel. The only issue I had was the fact that the bedding and mattresses are very old and need to be replaced. The bunk bed frame was rickety and wobbled when you moved. Fortunately no one was above me. On the plus side, great staff, fun psychedelic decor, and great location from which to watch the revolution.

I'd stay there again, but. . . 1) the girl at the front desk snarled at me when I asked (in Russian) if she spoke English 2) they nickel and dime you for things that would be free at other hostels 3) it's a dry hostel and they don't tell you up front that booze and being drunk is forbidden 4) lockers are tiny and cost extra On the plus side the security is great and it was very clean

Very helpful people who assisted me when I had visa troubles. Nice bar/restaurant the food and drinks are overpriced but they do have a happy hour and free dumplings night. Coupon for free beer and coffee at check in. Could do a better job cleaning. Windows are filthy. Baseboards and floors need to be cleaned. Dorms for 40 yuan a night (at least during the cold season) are the cheapest lodging you'll find in Beijing. I'd stay there again.

So-so hostel. Close to a metro but near anything interesting. There was a blood stain in my room that I informed the staff about but they did nothing about. This hostel will also find ways to nickel and dime you for things that would be complementary at other places (like using the computer). Overpriced drinks.

I've stayed in hostels all over the world and this is one of the best. This place is beyond clean. It's immaculate. Great breakfast on a rooftop patio. Full service laundry at a great price. The whole staff will learn your name and address you by name when you walk in the door. The staff are friendly not just in a customer service way. They genuinely want to get to know you and hear your story. I only wished the behavior of the other guests was so good. Respect the place where you vacation.

Pros: Great free breakfast. Super helpful staff who assisted with tours, bus tickets, tuk-tuks, and full service laundry for cheap. Prices for a fan only room are nice and low. Western toilets and good shower. I would stay here again. Cons: Kind of far (but not too far) from the center of town. Clutter. On my floor part of the building looked like it was being demolished. A few roaches.

Super mixed reviews about this place. The Good: Right in the middle of Wilkiki Super friendly staff Met chill people and I did have fun times there Unlikely you'll find a room in Wikiki for less Free pizza night! Free beer night!!! The Bad: No lockers! Roaches in the bathroom!!! Room was way too small for 6 beds. AC barely worked so the room was always hot as hell. Clutter everywhere Too many guests in too little space.
