We were the only guests staying at the Hostel that night which makes it a little hard to describe the atmosphere, but we enjoyed staying there.
When we arrived we were told that the hostel was overbooked, but the staff was very friendly and offered us a room in another building. It was not ensuite, as we had booked it, but it was okay. The other guests were a little loud when they returned from the pub, which was bad because we heard them slam doors and walk around for quite a while. We moved to the main building the night after where everything was okay. The kitchen there was huge and we had a lot of space to prepare our food.
Malinbeg Hostel has a spacious living room as well as two spacious kitchens and a dining room. We enjoyed cooking our own dinner here because you have your own space but then you can sit together with other guests while eating. It was very cozy in the living room by the fireside. When we asked Frank what we could see in the area, he gave us some ideas and told us how to get there. We enjoyed being far away from cities and noisy cars, and being so close to the beautiful silver strand.
The B&B was nice. The staff was very friendly and helped us with information about what to do in the city. The room was clean and bright. The breakfast was delicious and you could choose from day to day what you wanted to eat. The house was located a little bit outside the city center of Galway (walking distance approx. 15min.) but this was no problem at all.
A very lovely B&B. The staff helped us a lot with planning our day trips by providing maps and information about restaurants. The breakfast was excellent, everything was clean and the wifi was available in our bedroom. The bedroom was spacious and since the B&B is a little outside of town (walking distance of 5-8 minutes) it was very quiet. I would definitely recommend staying at Friary View B&B.
The staff was friendly and very helpful with booking another stay and the airport shuttle. Our room was nice, there were enough plug sockets and lamps in the room. The breakfast was good (toast, butter, jam, eggs, cereals etc). We used the kitchen once for making dinner and we found everything we needed. The only thing I didn't like is that there was no wifi in the bedrooms. After two nights at Abigail's we booked another stay there for the end of our trip.
