Amazingly friendly staff. They really take the time to make you feel welcome and help you with any directions or fun things to do. It's a smaller hostel so it's more of a family feel than larger hostels. The internet speed is great and there are plugs and lamps next to each bed which is extremely convenient. The breakfast in the morning was basic but good. There are a lot of cool bar/music spots nearby so you have stuff to do and you're right next to the metro for easy access to the city.
Sits up on a hill but is in a safe location. Conveniently located next to the beach and the metro. The internet has low bandwidth the only time I could use it was late at night when everyone was sleeping or mid-day when everyone was gone. There were no outlets near the bed so you would have to sit next to your device downstairs in the kitchen while they were charging. Also there was a lot of noise in the morning from the school right next door.
I read great reviews about this hostel but it didn't really live up to it. The best part was the staff, who were super friendly. They don't tell you that they charge for using your credit card to pay for your stay and your card is charged in whatever currency the card was issued in at a horrible exchange rate. The kitchen's closed after 10pm and the wifi wasn't working for most of the time I was there. On a good note: the bathrooms were clean and no wait and location was great. Still overpriced
Hatters was one of the best hostels I stayed in. the bathrooms were always clean and I never had to wait. The staff were really friendly and willing to help you out with anything you need. The atmosphere is great if you're backpacking alone or in a small group because you meet a lot of cool people in the hostel. And the staff does a great job at planning events every day to get people from the hostel to meet each other.
