Location was great/OK, depending on your perspective. Just 5 minutes outside of Amsterdam Centraal, you'll need a daily pass on the Sprinter, but great & frequent connections make it no real sacrifice (miss a train, there'll be another in about 4 minutes - anytime of day). Plus easier to get to Schiphol. Lots of families - breakfast buffet was a new type of circus/zoo I had yet to see! Food good. Very new place; very clean; A/C. Bed was not that comfy, though - VERY thin mattress. GREAT shower!

Hi Michael, Thank you very much for your review and stay at our hotel! Our breakfast room can become quite crowded in busy times like these, but we are happy to hear that you enjoyed the food (and the shower!). Warm regards from Meininger Amsterdam

I liked this hotel/hostel much more than my previous one in Paris. No secure place for your bag if you need to leave it unaccompanied. Location is excellent - just off the Republic station with easy connections to everywhere! Staff very friendly and informative. Not much of a lounge space - front lobby (tiny, but with a washroom - a big +) and the kitchen area. Free breakfast - basic, but OK! Washroom was clean, but the floors in the room weren't and one of my towels didn't seem the freshest.

The streets leading to this hotel from the Gare du Nord are all over the place, changing names, going off in odd directions... a pain in the ass when trying to find this place! Google map it with a free wifi before you set out! Shower was super tiny and mildewed. One toilet on every other floor. Breakfast is basic. Street-facing rooms VERY loud with windows open (if it's summer, you'll need it open for air...) Bed OK. Wifi didn't work well on my floor. Good area. Pricey for what you get.

This is a great hotel! Best breakfast of any place of the 7 different places I stayed at on my vacation. Great room, comfy beds, lots of pillows, lots of choice on the TV, and air conditioned! Location was great - just off of the tram, very close to the Gare Perrache, the subways, and the new shopping centre. Lots of great places to eat nearby. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Lyon was a great destination and this place helped make it better!

Hotel du Congres

This is a nice hotel, very well situated to public transit and the sites of Brussels. The room was simple but clean and comfortable. My room faced the street and was a little bright at night because of the hotel's signage. It was also loud - lots of traffic, pedestrians making a little too merry, and some kind of alarm going off all night on one of the nights. But it was hot, so the window had to stay open. The breakfast buffet was good. Staff excellent. Definitely would stay again!

Good location. The management of this facility is certainly trying to make improvements but way too much is yet to be done - some of which makes the facility currently dangerous. Case in point: the very steep stairwell and railing (small sections missing; held together with red duct tape; VERY shaky). If anyone were to ever need to lean on it, for any reason... No hot water in kitchen to clean breakfast dishes. Furniture: room OK; lounge not. Too much else to mention - much better out there.

Location is awesome, literally just off of the tram, opposite the Van Gogh museum. It took no time at all to get from Centraal Station to here and there are lots of convenient services nearby, to say nothing of attractions. My room was simply beautiful. Extremely clean, modern washroom with marble or marble-like tile, very comfortable beds and linens, and plenty of large, luxurious towels. An extra 5€ for breakfast was very well worth it. My first stay of my European trip may be the best!
