A good, cheap deal for Paris. Not the cleanest hostel, but not bad. Kitchen was a bit sparse, but at least there was a kitchen. Good breakfast, strong WiFi, and lockers in the lobby and the dorms. Not the best atmosphere for meeting people, though. Some staff are super friendly, some seem a bit angry all the time. Right next to the metro, which is super convenient.

Mosquito Hostel

Krakow, Poland

An amazing hostel with awesome staff, great meals (make sure you show up earlier than the meal time to make sure you get food--it goes fast!), fun pub crawls, and fantastic facilities. Thanks for a great stay!

Hostel Mango

Prague, Czech Republic

Really nice hostel--very comfortable rooms, well-stocked kitchen (although I had a hard time finding a glass to drink from), and clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hostel is a 1 minute walk from the castle side of the Charles Bridge. For some reason, my laptop/phone couldn't pick up WiFi in the lounge, but that is my only complaint. The hostel was pretty quiet when I was there--I was hoping to meet more people, but it is the off-season for traveling. Still, I recommend it!

Quiet hostel located 20 minutes outside the city center of Vienna. Great facilities (although WiFi was spotty in the rooms), helpful staff, very clean. Quieter atmosphere, but it could have been because it's off season for most travelers. A good place to catch your breath and relax!

Carpe Noctem Vitae

Budapest, Hungary

Fun hostel, definitely a party hostel, but then again, Budapest is the city to party in. My only complaint is that the under-the-bed lockers were annoying--the way they opened made things difficult to get in or out. Flipping them upside down so they open the other way would make everything much easier. Not the cleanest hostel, but the staff does their best given the party atmosphere. Stay here if you want to have a fantastic time in Budapest!

Split Guesthouse & Hostel

Split, Croatia

AMAZING HOSTEL! Josko is the greatest--I had the best time! Small hostel with a family feel to it. Made tons of new friends, spent most days cliff-jumping and swimming, and had way too much fun with the free Rakia! Small lockers for valuables, good kitchen, fast WiFi. Grandma's breakfast is soooo worth the money and Josko cooks dinner when he's feeling up to it! Definitely stay here--you'll never want to leave! I extended my stay by 2 nights. :)

The Brit Hostel Zagreb

Zagreb, Croatia

Great hostel! Friendliest staff I've met in a loooooong time, and super helpful too! Good facilities, the most comfortable hostel bed I've ever slept in, and very clean. 10 minutes' walk from the center of the city, but a 30 second walk from the main street. Highly recommended!

Vila Veselova

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Fantastic hostel! Suuuuper friendly staff, good breakfast, great facilities, great atmosphere. Made loads of new friends and took day trips with them. 10 minutes' walk from the center of the city, but it's a pretty walk. Definitely stay here!

Hostel 5 Terre

Cinque Terre, Italy

Great hostel! Located on the top of a hill, so be prepared to hike up with your bag(s) (which shouldn't be a problem since you go to Cinque Terre to hike anyway!). Staff was very friendly and helpful. Large lockers in the room for your stuff. Spacious rooms, large bathrooms. No kitchen for guest use, and WiFi only works on the ground floor. Very clean place too! I would stay here again if I ever pass through Cinque Terre again.

A nice quiet hostel located in the beautiful neighborhood of Trastevere--a bit far from all of the major sites, but a great place to be away from all of the tourists. Helpful and friendly staff, good facilities (WiFi was spotty at times), and a good free breakfast. Not specifically a youth hostel--women of all ages stay here--so you meet a different sort of crowd. I was very comfortable here!

JUFA Salzburg City

Salzburg, Austria

Great hostel, friendly staff, close to the city center. The breakfast is amazing, and watching "The Sound of Music" at night is fun. The hostel is less of a youth hostel and more of a guesthouse for families and groups traveling together, so many families and kids stay there too. This, combined with the large size of the hostel, made meeting people difficult, so the atmosphere was lacking a bit. Still, a great place to stay!

Hostel Meyerbeer Beach

Nice, France

Great hostel! Less than a 5 minute's walk from the beach--perfect!--although a bit far from Old Town. Amazing staff, friendly atmosphere, good free breakfast, strong WiFi connection, super clean. I love that they supply towels and beach mats, too! I would definitely stay here again.

Pop' Hostel

Avignon, France

Good hostel, but it was pretty quiet while I was there, making it hard to meet people. Staff were very friendly and helpful. WiFi stopped working, which was frustrating. There's not really a kitchen, just a toaster and a microwave. No fridge either. Happy hour drink deals are good, though, and the beds are super comfortable--the individual outlets are great! Overall a good place to stay, right in the center of the city. The bakery across the street is super tasty!

Pil Pil Hostel

Bilbao, Spain

A great hostel! Super clean, excellent facilities (super fast wifi, yeah!) (although the kitchen does not have a stove/oven, just a toaster and microwave), friendly staff, good music. Be prepared to walk a bit to get to Casco Viejo and the museums (a nice walk, though!), or else take the metro that is right across the street! Breakfast was simple but good--toast, cereals, muffins. Thanks for a great stay!

Si Gros

San Sebastian, Spain

Great location, really friendly staff. Wifi was pretty slow and the room was cramped, though. A bit hard to find as it's unmarked and on the 5th floor of an apartment building, but if you have the building number, you should have no trouble.

A fun hostel in a great location! The staff are super friendly and do their best to make you feel at home. They organize tons of events--hikes, pub crawls, tapas tours, paella night, and more--so there's always something fun to do. My room was comfortable but hot, and the fact that it overlooked the back garden made it hard to fall asleep--the music was really loud. Still, I would stay here again, I had a great time!

La Banda Rooftop Hostel

Seville, Spain

These guys are FANTASTIC, they really know how to run a fun, laid back hostel. La Banda is without a doubt the best place to stay in Sevilla. It's been my favorite hostel experience thus far, and I find it hard to believe that anything will be able to beat it! The rooftop is so much fun, family dinners are the best (sooo tasty)! The guys who run it are super friendly and have the best recommendations. Wish we could have hung out more! Hope to see you guys again soon!

Jacobs Inn

Dublin, Ireland

A great hostel! The staff was super helpful, the location was perfect (right around the corner from the bus station), and the facilities were really nice. The only complaint I have is that there are too few outlets in the common area--finding a spot to charge my laptop was difficult. Despite that, I would definitely stay here again!

Four Courts Hostel

Dublin, Ireland

Great hostel! Super friendly and helpful staff, secure cages under the beds for locking up valuables, and close to all of the major attractions. I would definitely recommend it!
