We were awestruck by this place when we arrived. Set at the boundary between the forest and Abraao village, the noises at sunset and sunrise are truly charming. The breakfast is generous and the views from the tables are stunning. Some of the staff seemed a little unfriendly/unapproachable, but that was made up for by one staff member in particular who was extremely welcoming, friendly, and full of helpful advice. Abraao is just one of those perfect places for us, and the treks from it too!

Iguassu Eco Hostel

This is the best-maintained hostel that I have stayed in. The dorms are extremely spacious. When we stayed there it was much colder than we were expecting (6C! [end of August]), but the cosy fire made us feel right at home! It would've been nice to have been told that the A/C unit was capable of heating the dorm though... maybe it's common knowledge :S but we're from England and therefore have no experience of these tropical contraptions. After a night of shivering, alas, we realised!

Our home in Rio! A fantastic hostel that serves a generous breakfast (until 3pm!!) in a very homely kitchen. We stayed here on three occasions and were never disappointed. We stayed in both the private double rooms and in dorms, all of which were very comfortable. The staff literally could not be more friendly or helpful. The hostel offers many facilities (inc. wifi) for free that require additional expenditure in similarly-priced hostels within the same complex, e.g. The Lighthouse.
