Thailand Guesthouse

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Nice hostel but very quiet and quite far from the main tourist areas of Chiang Mai. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and they make a great breakfast and have super cool drinks menu :). This place would probably be a more social environment in high season.

Awesome clean hostel just a short walk from the sky train. The bathrooms and rooms are really clean and equipped with larger single beds. The chill out area is situated on the street which makes for prime people watching and backpackers conversation, with a TV room and internet area inside. WIFI throughout the hostel and very helpful staff.

Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark

Massive hostel next to Vondel Park. No kitchen facilities but standard continental breakfast provided. Amsterdam is small so everything is accessible by foot. The hostel has weak WIFI and no real social scene.

Gallery Hyde Park

London, England
94%

This is a great cheap hostel in London located right next to Hyde Park and a short tube/bus ride from the main attractions. With two tube stops near by, most of London is easily accessible within half an hour. The staff were a lot of fun although this hostel is probably not the best place stay if you are looking for rowdy night life in London. No kitchen.

Old Town Lagos Hostel

Lagos, Portugal

I had so much fun at this hostel! When I was there the entire hostel went on an epic pub crawl around town :). The staff are really great at accommodating individual needs and helping to organise day trips to nearby surfing beaches (and more). A big kitchen is also accessible with plenty of storage space and a yummy breakfast is provided. Perfect place to stay in Lagos :).

Sant Jordi Diagonal Hostel

Barcelona, Spain
89%

If you are wanting to see some of Gaudi's work, this is a good base for you! The hostel is in a beautiful old building and offers a great kitchen and socialising area, although these are very close to the rooms and can get noisy at night. If you are travelling alone, it's not the greatest place to meet new people. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The shower cubicles are ridiculously small and awkward to wash in!

This hostel was so much fun! Kitchen facilities were good and there was plenty of storage for food and drinks. The room and bathrooms were comfortable and clean with a super chill out area! Although close to a metro station, the hostel is kind of far from most of the attractions. If you are travelling alone this is a great hostel for meeting fun and adventurous people in Barcelona.

St Christopher's Barcelona

This place had the best bunk bed's I stayed in throughout my whole 4 and half months through Europe. Privacy curtain with power points and a light with rolling under bed lockers. The downside for me was the awful smell when walking through the hall ways, you could always smell toilet/bathroom odour no matter how much cleaning was done. The location is also great, a very short walk to The Rambler, metro station and airport bus stop.

The Beach House

San Sebastian, Spain

Really lovely hostel full of fun and interesting travelers. My friend and I were only staying here for one night before picking up a hire care to travel Spain. The location is close to all the major attractions and the train and bus stations. Found it a little tricky to initially navigate to the hostel.

Fair hike up to the room we were allocated to but totally worth it! Great view and comfortable dorm room :). The staff didn't supply any information on the Cinque Terre region which was a bummer.

Youth Hostel Anna

Great atmosphere and location with everything you need right on your door step. Perissa beach, bars, gyros, mini mart, super market, bus stop and pharmacies are all within 5 minutes from the front door. The showers lacked pressure (I'm talking a small drizzle some days) and were often changing temperature pretty erratically but were fine for rinsing.

Jimmy's Hostel

Paros, Greece

These people have to be some of the nicest and helpful hostel owners I have met. I arrived in Paros violently ill and they immediately got me to hospital, upgraded my room, did my washing, collected my medication and checked on my for the following 24 hours while I was stuck in bed. The hostel has amazing wifi in the common area and is a short walk from the beach and port.

This guest house fed me the best meal I've had in Europe! A buffet of organically grown vegetable and freshly baked bread and pastries. Florian guesthouse organised two trips for us with a personal driver who was an absolute legend. We had a great time in Shkoder and I highly recommend this guesthouse :D

Saki Hostel & Guesthouse

Budva, Montenegro

Saki is a legend!!! We had a great time cruising around on his boat trip, get a group together and go see the private beaches and caves. The rooms were really fun but there was only one shower and toilet for 16 people? The shower leaked pretty bad so the bathroom was always soaked. Fully booked when we were there but they managed to cater diner for everyone. Super helpful people! :)

Nice hostel right on the beach and about 700m from the old town and a short walk for cheap and delicious breakfasts. Kotor is one of my favourite places so far and this hostel definitely contributed to that.

Youth Hostel Zadar

Zadar, Croatia

This place was in a great spot just a stones through from the beach and a short ride on the 'fun train' into town. The hostel feels a little like a school camp with a bar. Instantly upgraded to an ensuit room. The common areas could really do with some lounge chairs. It was pretty loud on our second night as a Contiki group rocked up and as usual, made pigs of themselves as usual.

What a lovely quaint hostel with great kitchen facilities. Another bonus was no bunks, so you always have the joy of sleeping in single beds and having a great nights sleep. The staff were super helpful with places to eat and things to see and do.
