Ines Downtown B&B

Rome, Italy

Two bedroom apartment across the road from termini station. Shared full kitchen (fridge/freezer, oven/stove top) and bathroom. Alex, the 'landlord', kept the fridge stocked with milk, toast, cheeses and coffee. Regular maidservice for sheets, towels and dishes. No WiFi in the room sucked. There is WiFi at Alex's restaurant, but that's a 5-10min walk down the street and we felt obligated to buy coffee/water each visit. He does provide a free meal with wine at his restaurant and it was great.

PLUS Berlin

Berlin, Germany

Beautiful hostel in the "alternative" neighborhood of east Berlin. We stayed in a private 3-bed room so security/lockers wasn't an issue. Our on suite bathroom was spacious and clean; and like the rest of our room, cleaned regularly. WiFi was available in the room and throughout the building but proved too slow for Skype. Computers were available for free and most of the staff waive the printing charges, which is great for printing boarding passes etc. Breakfast was €6 and all you can eat.

Astor Victoria

London, England

Great location, 5min walk to Pimlico or 10min to Victoria Station (this is where the Gatwick Express arrives.) No lockers for luggage, but there were cages under the bunks which were good enough. Great WiFi and friendly staff...and you can't beat that price!
