Stayokay Amsterdam Vondelpark

Amsterdam, Netherlands
86%

A bit of a disappointing hostel layout was salvaged by a great staff and atmosphere. Our room was poorly laid out; it was a 6 person dorm with 3 randomly distributed outlets, a sink right beside the beds and no wi-fi. Unfortunately, like with anything in Amsterdam, our stay was quite expensive yet much more reasonable when compared with other options. A tad out of the way from downtown yet still within 20 minute walk from the heart of downtown, however, right beside the breathtaking Vondel Park.

Thank you for your response and rating! Great to hear that the staff and atmosphere were to your liking! I understand that the layout of the room is not to your liking, sorry to hear that. Unfortunately we don't have the possibility to have WiFi in the rooms. The WiFi is available in the public area's, the lobby, bar and breakfastroom. You also find poweroutlets there. You're right, Vondelpark is breathtaking :) Kind Regards, Anna Stayokay Vondelpark

Pfefferbett Hostel

An absolutely beautiful hostel, located in an old brewery tucked away in Pffefferberg. Top-notch facilities include lush backyard, pool table, ping pong, foosball, computers, bar and comfortable common area. Staff are extremely friendly and were very accommodating considering our unique circumstances. Seems to draw more of a German speaking demographic so it may be a little more difficult to meet English speaking tourists than at other hostels.

Wombats City Hostel Berlin

Berlin, Germany

Vibrant hostel in the heart of Berlin. Very friendly staff go out of their way to make your stay more enjoyable and provide countless tips for navigating through a large, complex city. Plenty of activities are offered through hostel affiliates and staff are willing to provide recommendations upon request. Building contains computers, long distance calling station and bar area. Discount breakfast in the neighbouring restaurant really hit the spot.

Ostello Tramonti

Cinque Terre, Italy

Relaxing hostel destination just outside of Riomaggiorie. We we're welcomed by a shuttle bus ride to the hostel with breathtaking views around every turn. Staff were extremely friendly and hospitable, however, were adamant about a midnight curfew (and also shutdown the hostel from 10a - 2:30p). I have a feeling these curfews had a negative impact on the atmosphere at the hostel but were beneficial for good long days of hiking through Cinque Terre. The wi-fi was limited at times.

The River Hostel

A comfortable and secure hostel in the heart of Valencia. Staff were knowledgeable but not very warm or receptive. Bright and spacious common areas were very nice to hang out in, however, the atmosphere was lacklustre considering. A hop, skip, and a jump away from the river green space and easy to obtain bikes through a hostel affiliate. Felt more like a hotel than a hostel.

El Granado

Granada, Spain

A very new and luxurious hostel in the heart of Granada. Design was top notch and hammock on the terrace was the icing on the cake. Unfortunately, the wi-fi was only available in the common area and there were times when it was difficult to find hot water for the shower. More of a low-key environment provided us with a great reprieve, however, is not ideal for a younger crowd.

Sevilla Hostel One Centro

Fantastic hostel in the heart of Seville. Very accommodating staff provided a wide array of entertainment throughout the day and night. Being in a traditional Spanish building made our stay feel like a truly authentic experience and was surprisingly comfortable considering the heat. We had the some of the best breakfast during our entire trip here.

Hostel One Sants

Barcelona, Spain

Unbelievable hostel with an excellent atmosphere. The staff go out of their way to ensure that everyone receives a true Spanish experience, by serving dinners every night and Sangria on the weekends. They are also very informative and provide you with plenty of things to do during the day and in the evening. Rooftop patio is an absolute pleasure to spend time on. Unfortunately, the hostel is on the outside of the city so be prepared to use public transportation.

Rivoli Cinema Hostel

Porto, Portugal

A movie-goer's paradise; a truly unique experience in the heart of Porto. Rather than a standard numbering system, each room has a theme that corresponds to a particular movie. On top of that, they have the most extensive DVD collection I have ever seen in my life. The staff are extremely friendly and provide local specialties for dinner on a nightly basis. This hostel is quieter and the common room really seemed to be lacking a lively atmosphere so it may not be ideal for younger crowd.

Home Lisbon Hostel

This hostel has everything; friendly and accommodating staff, 24 hour reception and bar, cozy rooms, great young and vibrant international atmosphere. The mother of the owner even makes a home cooked, traditional dinner every night. The hostel ensures that everything to do in Lisbon is at your fingertips and truly make you feel at home.
